:umad: Im born and raised in the bay area, please tell me more about how much money you need to live :wow:

:heh: even your own source (by the way city-data.com is the largest city information website on the planet, never even heard of your site before) says 81k which is 20k short of 6 figures..

youngins and they fukked up math :wow:

:heh: someone please ban this fukking idiot. The whole area surrounding DC has more millionaires than anywhere else in the country. You a dumb nikka in the bay telling me that people working some of the most high profile jobs in the USA are only making 59k a year because some site said so? fukk out of here boy... hold this link and be done with the debate.

I know exactly how dude feel though. Unless you act like you have some urgency to your shyt, you'll be 50 talking the same talk. If I ain't push myself the way I did, I wouldn't have made it to 130k when I did. shyt, I cut off cable, and didn't watch TV, sports, or play video games for like 2 years straight, just straight grinding.

Now I'm taking the same energy and applying it to my company. If I can put 12 hours a day for a year, I know I can hit at least 100k/yr working for myself. If you trying to make it, you gotta act like there's a fire under your ass. If you don't you'll always be average.

nah you missin me i aint sayin don't have that fire. i'm sayin don't let that fire be subject to an age requirement or some shyt. the way the op is talkin, if it aint by 25 then it aint a real accomplishment... nikka hell yeah thats an accomplisment :damn: if thats what you really want then keep goin for it regardless of how old you are. and take pride in it when you do. even if you never accomplish it, you could never say you "failed", shyt you moved at your highest potential :yeshrug: wound up further than you woulda been otherwise

Yeah, shyt really was a depressing feeling I did the math and I'd need to make ~50k/mo AFTER taxes to really feel like I'm balling. That's about 800k/yr I'd imagine. I already got the crib picked out, only 10k a month to rent :to:

Yo no lie one of my good friends was going to buy that house and turn it into a party spot for all the kids at gsu. Only reason he didn't is because we couldnt get a liquor license there and selling alchy without one is risky as fukk. I remember that house because Tyler perry either filmed a movie in that neighborhood or actually lives there.

But my friends dad is worth 9 figures and his company just went public so all this kid has to do is stay alive and he's set for life. Lucky b*stard

Bdizzle how did you get into the IT consulting field? school? certs?

Went to school for IT, started out in help desk, gotta bunch of certs. I'm in security now, so I got my CISSP, CCNP Security, and was about to take my CCIE Security before I said fukk it and decided to grow my own firm fulltime.

I remember when I got my first client, it was a connect from this chick I was banging after I moved to ATL. It was for a job out in Chicago. I sat in on the kick off conference call, had my worker on the phone, and coordinated the time and place he's supposed to be there. I probably put in a good 4-5 hours of actual work. After the job was done I asked the client if everything was to her satisfaction, and she was pleased. She signed off on his time sheet (17 hours), faxed it back to me, and I sent her an invoice.

Few days later I gotta check in the mail for $1700. Haven't looked back since.

Now my goal is to sign businesses up on a recurring basis. 300-1000/mo to be their technology experts. I'm hoping to bring on 30 clients at 1000/mo by the end of the year.

most ppl will probably never see 100k a year in their life. u look at avg salaries in the USA?

probably even worse for the demographic in this forum as well.

i'd guess less than 5% of posters here hit that mark, if that.

I can only speak for myself, but the time table is part of my fire. I have to set dates and be super hard on myself. All my friends that know me always say "the fukk you putting so much pressure on yourself for?" Without that pressure, I'll be havoc status. Eating fast food, beating off 3 times a day, and fukking whatever dingy fat bytch would have me :wow:

I was thinking about going this route also but would I have to go back to school for a Computer Sciences degree and then get the certs or could I just get the certs and crank that shyt. I made a IT thread in HL but that shyt got out of control.
