there are only 8 1st-round rookies rated higher than Zeke so far (Wentz, Bosa, Conklin, Tunsil, Karl joseph, taylor decker, Keanu Neal, Ryan Kelly)
4/8 are offensive lineman, so out of the elgible 1st round talents, only 4 are rated higher (Bosa, Went, Joseph, Neal)
Bosa was drafted at #3, Went went #2, and Neal and Joseph went in the teens
If you look at it like that, The Cowboys got a decent return on their investment
here's what they said about Zeke
4. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Cowboys (Ohio State)
Snaps: 291
Overall grade: 75.9
Through seven weeks of the season, Ezekiel Elliott leads the league in rushing (703 yards), but much of the heavy lifting has been done by the Dallas offensive line. Only five backs have a smaller percentage of their rushing yards come after contact, and Elliott has broken only 11 tackles. He has played well, but not nearly as well as the box-score stats suggest.
the only argument you can make for the #4 is trading back, or selecting Ramsey or Deforest Buckner (both have similar grades to Zeke)
Because of the emergence of Claiborne, we might not need Ramsey as much but it would have been decent insurance. Buckner would fit on our line, and fill a need. With that said, Zeke seems to have been the most impactful fit for this team
