albums with joints w/ JT are real rap brehs
who are people in NY listening to?
I can almost guarantee if someone was really popping in NYC they would get play on the radio.
That doesnt even matter though...those Drill videos get 1,000,000 views just off the word of mouth of the kids in the city...thats a real movement....NYC doesnt have that.

thats not a movement. Im talking something organic that didnt need a label to push it. Those numbers you posted are for tracks that got radio/MTV play.Yes, it does. A$AP.
Most their videos have 1mil+ views. Shabba has over 18mil +.
Their latest video has almost 2.5 mil, charted #2 in germany, gets played on mtv Africa, they have an international fanbase.. Rocky is touring Brazil this year.
But people on here think theyre corny so they ignore their movement

What he's saying is true, because since that day Gangsta Rap fell off. Looking at these comments it seems a lot of you wasn't listening to street music prior to 2007

Them ASAP cats were pushed by the internet hipsters...not buzz from the kids of NYC.
ASAP didnt change the sound of the city, they look like club kids honestly. There were a few cats like that in Chicago, but they got no love outside of the hipster sets.
The Drill movement is larger than one crew, and was bubbling way before your average hipster type blog jumped on them (have they even jumped on them?)...I dont even hear the drill cats on the radio here.
which ASAP track doesnt get radio/MTV play?Nope. A lot of A$APs music doesnt major radio play or mtv play...or at least Ive never seen or heard a handful of songs/videos of theirs with 1+mil views on the radio or mtv
And true, but even the "unsigned" artist of Chi got labels behind them now and are just playing like they dont.
Lil Bibby been meeting with Def Jam for over a year.. worked with No I.D, there was a picture of him Rockin a DJ chain, and him and Lil Herb was flying out to L.A.. funded by DJ.. Bibby thanked DJ for it.
Drill movement started off organic but now it seems like labels are swoopin in.
which ASAP track doesnt get radio/MTV play?
of course labels came in on the Drill cats...but thats all recent...their numbers were up before they got any national coverage. Im pretty sure they dont even get played on local radio.

but he makes cb4'esque street music...if you gon support real street music you gon need to fuk w/ the Drill shyt

come on man...im not saying these dudes are out there busting they guns, but you dont think thats the environment they are in? Plus they arent in interviews saying they are out there doing that shyt.I like bibby and herb but you bring these schoolboy nikkas up and have the audacity to say troy ave makes cb4 type shyt
its videos of these nikkas getting chased in there own hood by outsiders.
I just saw your avi...im not doing this w/ youa lot lol
fashion killa, goldie, trillmatic, shabba, work and work remix, fukkin problems, phoenix, 1 train, peso, wftn... the only songs of theirs ive heard or seen on radio/mtv

I just saw your avi...im not doing this w/ you![]()

Troy Ave and his tall tales are a mess...stop it. NYC had a 7 day period last year w/ no murders!! It is not like the 90's. He aint no coke kingpin like he claimed, and probably never sold a dime bag...but wants to be "real".
