Economic and status insecurity

The USA is one of the most mentally ill countries in the world...

We have the mental health of a war torn nation....literally...

This is actually true....

Also, it was much easier to be a recluse or an introvert in generations past. The shyt is damn near impossible now, if you already have some mental issues I see social media doing nothing be exacerbating these issues. Do too many people say they have it...yeah. Same with as some one said with ADHD. BUT there are some people with some serious issues with it.

The PROBLEM is that people don't know how to seek out therapy.

Also ALWAYS take into account the time we live in. It can SEEM like more people experience an ailment or issue because we HEAR about it more and SEE it more due to said social media. That a MAJOR factor as well...

I get the point but being dismissive of mental health is a route that leads to pathological issues. Black folks in particular are guilty of this.

I'm all for this! I'm glad to see more people accepting and getting help for it.

As a people, we've ignored mental health and viewed it as a weakness with terrible consequences.

Fortunately I've never dealt with depression or anxiety but have friends who are battling it and it's not something that's an easy fix, you can just hope to contain that shyt, another article I read it described as the mental version of the common cold.

So peace & light to all my people battling it.

A lot of people deal with anxiety as they start reaching real adulthood.. in the early 20's. A lot of uncertainties and shyt like that. I went through some myself. But people feel more free to speak about their issues now, and they have a lot of avenues to do so nowadays. Without youtube, people would deal with their own shyt and move on, but now people feel like their story might help the next person (and give them some attention as well).

I had actual anxiety disorder. I'd sit in the crib and pop prescribed Xanax all day just to keep the next anxiety attack from coming. I haven't had a panic attack in nearly two years tho. So I've been all but healed for the past year and a half.

Where do you think your anxiety stemmed from?

For many people, it's pressure. People want them to be extroverts, while at the same time having a full time job and going to school all at once, with perfect vision and dedication to everything. Or that kid in 10,000 activities in public school, that parents want them to be the next damn superstar.

Pressure causes it, and people refuse to address on whom creates the pressure.
