Nah I always read, and re-read before I post. Im meticulous when I get to debating.

But what you said doesn't change my point. Just because you make a lot of money doesn't mean you're sitting on a gold mine of liquid assets.

There is a difference between middle class and middle income.

You can have middle income but still be oriented to the working or under class.

Similarly, you can have low income and be oriented to the middle and upper classes.

Class is partly about income but so much more in terms of a worldview/outlook, habits, customs, socialization, etc.

It’s not black and white like most Americans think.

I personally think that most black people fall somewhere near being middle income but oriented towards the working class.

This is the best way I’ve seen this described.

Personally, by this definition, I think I’m solidly black middle class...but yeah, I see the difference based on people with similar incomes

Outside of Vanderveer (Flatbush Gardens) and it's surroundings, the whole 90s and a couple odd blocks here and there in the 50s E. Flatbush for the most part is pretty tame.

I hate the term middle class.

It’s such a window dressing term.

You have poor folks posing to be middle class when they are in debt and still check to check and an illness away from losing everything they think they own.

Then you have people with actual money who are ashamed to admit that they grew up rich so they say they come from a “middle class” background to seem more relatable.

The only negative with middle class is that once you're middle class you want to stay middle class, for better or worse

Middle class is great because they never want to go poor, but it's bad in that they lack the entrepreneurial spirit to be rich, and think very linear with how money works

Btw if you’re middle class and but filled with debt then I do not consider you middle class because you are virtually poor since all your money is going back to what you owe.

classes should be determined by how little debt you have combined with the money you make
