Worse qbs had made the Super Bowl so I have hope. And I really don't think he's THAT bad. He just has those couple moments a game when you're like why Matt? Is oline isn't helping him either. He's taking a beating.

With GOAT level defenses...which this team would never be able to field because all their money and picks are devoted directly or indirectly to their "franchise QB".

Mid round QBs almost never work out. If you're serious about replacing Stafford, draft the best QB in the first round and start him. Make Stafford beat him out.

Bu...bu...but what about his psyche? :lupe:

Most qbs don't work out in general. The expectation is for Stafford at age 28 beating out any rookie QB brought in to compete with him. If a first round pick is brought in and is beaten out then you have a first rounder on the bench, and is unlikely to deal him for a successive first rounder. Lions aren't in position for a first rounder to sit for 3 years like Aaron Rodgers and develop to take over for Stafford eventually. First round picks are still too valuable and too much of an investment to do so. A third round pick can. You can take the third rounder with an eye towards future development and groom him as a possible successor. If he's Russell Wilson and beats Matt out, that's gravy.

Folk gotta realize, there are not too many good QB's in the league anymore. You can get rid of Stafford...OK...but his replacement may not be as good.

Dude just needs a change of scenery. Someone will take a chance on him since the talent is there and paired with the right pieces, he can win a SB. If nikkaz are looking for the type of QB that will carry mediocre talent....well..that's not happening. Not when QB's are expected to start from jump.

QBs need to sit and learn...folk talk about ARod...he sat for years. It's rare you see a QB step in from day one and play like the next ARod.

I think people still don't know how bad Stafford is, people still get clouded by the physical tools

Can the Lions afford to burn a 1st rounder in the draft on a QB? They have too many holes

No. You can't use a first round pick on a QB when you got $20 mil tied up in another QB. Ironically, the offense contains some of those holes despite the money and picks thrown at it during the Stafford era.

Isn't that more a Mayhew problem? Williams,Young, Best, Leshoure, Broyles all flopping couldn't possibly be Stafford's problem
