When did being a decent human being become synonymous with "political correctness"?

If by social consequence you mean loss of business and support than yea that's only natural. I'm addressing this new breed of social justice warrior who spend all day looking for things to be offended about then won't stop until they have absolutely destroyed the life of anyone they disagree with.

We're past just social consequences, these people will attempt to rile up the dumber sheep to the point of inciting violence and property destruction. Its counter productive.

eh, not sure that really has anything to with political correctness, see pizzagate.

Meh, I'm not talking about any "social justice warriors' or whatever that is. I'm talking about these clowns (who Trump seems to lead) that just want to be able to be bigots and claim anybody who criticizes them is stifling their free speech.

If you tell your female coworker that women don't belong in the workplace and she needs to go back to the kitchen, and then you get fired, that's not "political correctness". That's you being an a$$hole and having to face consequences for your actions. :manny:

No I'm not... what's "hate language" anyway?
hate speech.

racism
anti-LGBT
anti-woman

ppl fighting against political correctness doesn't mean they stand for bigotry.... ppl are just getting sick and tired of dealing with over sensitive ppl that would rather hide away then to just be upfront.

ppl just want to say merry christmas(for example) without offending the whole fukking world

that was a typo. You disagree with the pc crowd, but you're fine with them expressing themselves right?

While I don't think hate speech is "acceptable" I'm leery of empowering the government to censor it.

this shouldn't even be a government issue on either side.

why do we need the government to say what is already deemed socially acceptable or not?

ppl looking to the government to always look out for them and protect severely underestimate what regular citizens can/will do.

again, that Dairy Queen incident is fresh, but proves a big point. Ppl won't tolerate hate speech and bigotry for long. and when it really starts to affect them things happen.

EXACTLY!!!

but it's your choice...just like if someone wants to spit that hate speech they are eventually going to have the same repercussions.

And when they do they'll bytch about "political correctness" and how they can't speak their mind. That's the whole point of the thread...

If I tell my coworker that, and I happen to work for someone who doesn't think its a big deal and the company doesn't lose any money, that should be the end of it. I shouldn't have to have my name, address, and children posted on social media so the "kind decent" liberals can harass me, make death threats and bully me into submission.

"The left" has become drunk off power and morphed into the bullies they're supposed to hate.

I thought the racists were the ones who were hiding because of the pc crowd?:patrice:
Isn't the pc crowd being "upfront" by voicing their disgust with offensive speech?:jbhmm:

ppl just want to say merry christmas(for example) without offending the whole fukking world
You're watching too much Fox news bro, there's no war on Christmas.:whoa:
In fact the anti-pc crowd are the ones claiming "Happy Holidays" is offensive.:pachaha:

I'm so confused right now:mindblown:, isn't pc culture "regular citizens" doing/saying something about what they find unacceptable?

I agree the government should stay out of it unless someone's civil rights are being violated.

Generally speaking the right is more prone to misguided calls to violence that you were speaking about, regardless of ideology there are nutjobs who take things too far. That's not going to change if pc culture disappears.
