When did being a decent human being become synonymous with "political correctness"?

Im well aware of the complexities of racism, I endured it throughout my life but we are talking about public speech ans human interaction here. which you say its okay for someone to be vocal publicy with their racism because of political but you overlook what the damage would be in the grand schme of things. And if people hold racist and bigoted thoughts, they should keep that shyt to theirselves anyway and stay with their own group but don't force that way of thinking onto others to believe as truth and Im not giving anyone permission to openly disrespect me because they dont have to be pc.

Explains a lot.

So you aren't black.

Are you from the U.S.?

Some of yall so caught up on this need for PC to protect your feelings from cacs yelling racist shyt to your face you don't realize the closet racists been playing the PC game you advocate for...

There is a fantastic documentary on this on Netflix titled "13th" I advise you all watch if you haven't...

It basically covers how cacs used the label "criminal" to keep us imprisoned...They used a loophole in the 13 amendment which states

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for CRIME whereof the party shall have been duly convicted shall exist within the United States.

Mass incarceration started under Nixon and specifically targeted civil rights activists by labeling them criminals...They didn't come out and say we're tired of these unruly ******s so we're going to lock them up...They said the country has a "crime" problem, we need "law and order"...Trump is playing the same card but he's never hid his racism, he's outspoken...

They passed laws that specifically targeted our communities...Nixon didn't pass those laws on his own and he wasn't the only president to push this agenda...A lot of yall openly supported a woman who labeled black youth "super predators" when it was politically acceptable for her to do so...Her husband Slick Willy the "first black president" passed the 1994 crime bill which increased mass incarceration drastically...

Point here is PC may protect your feelings but it won't stop racists from fukking us...The outspoken racist gets all the headlines while the closet racist plays PC, smiles for the cameras and helps pass laws designed to put your black ass in a cage for 20 years on a simple weed possession charge...You probably ended up voting for him to...

I'd rather know who my enemy is then have a Clinton smile in my face, go on Arsenio show play the sax and then run off and pass the 1994 crime bill responsible for incarcerating an entire generation of my people...

What are you saying exactly?

That PC culture seeks to control language and ideas they don't agree with by painting everything as hate speech and I disagree.

Regular, everyday people can be crude. If the left is going to gain any ground they are going to have to learn how to deal and really engage people instead of trying to paint over it with a white brush and hide it.

Politically doing so will continue to bit them in the ass.

Esquire wrote a good article on this.

The F*cking P.C. Culture Problem
"There is this phenomenon of categorizing too many things as racist or sexist, and that makes us unable to analyze and engage with Trump. I think one of the problems with that phenomenon is that on the flipside it allows people like Trump to disguise themselves—disguise their racist and sexist beliefs among a lot of other beliefs that aren't racist and sexist."

Exactly. This is what is going on that i don't agree with.

Liberals and dems are just as racist, they just cover up by not doing it in public.

That's no better.

I don't see what you guys are getting here. You think that if we completely got rid of this soft PC thinking that ppl will just be running around using hate speech like it ain't no thing.

in 2017, open hate speech is NOT tolerated. and the more of it that comes out the more ppl will turn AGAINST those ppl.

Yes, I want to know who the racists are, the homophobes are, the xenophobes and shyt are. Because when we know who they are they can be dealt with. No more hiding under the shadows doing the same dirt under disguise.

you dudes acting like these ppl won't be dealt with are just foolish.

If we know who these ppl are, then we hit them where it hurts....$$$. Stop buying their products, stop going to their stores, stop watching their movies or listening to their music, etc.

Then what is the anti-pc argument?:patrice:
the anti-pc argument is don't limit what I can or can't say because you disagree with what I've said.

Also, ppl are just thinking anti-pc is just for race issues, its not and I would honestly say race issues aren't even at the top of the PC BS

If there's one thing about the current political environment (besides the blatant 'cism) that annoys me it's this.

And I guess Trump exemplifies it, but it's far from just him. But when did "Not being an a$$hole" become a synonym for being "politically correct"? We now seem to be in a political environment where simply being respectful of people and not going out of your way to be an a$$hole is considered a moral failing.

Anybody else starting to feel like this? This whole anti-PC movement seems to be at the point where it's really just an excuse for people to express their bigoted opinions and accuse anybody who criticizes them of being sensitive or members of the PC police.

It's more than annoying these days. :mindblown:

The anti-pc culture seeks to control language and ideas they don't agree with by painting protest as unAmerican or anti free speech.

Regular, everyday people can be crude. If the left is going to gain any ground they are going to have to learn how to deal and really engage people instead of trying to paint over it with a white brush and hide it.
Regular, everyday people can protest offensive speech. If the right is going to gain any ground they are going to have to learn how to deal and really engage people instead of trying to silence those they offend.

In a country where black people were considered less than human under the Constitution it's laughable to suggest that categorizing "too many things as racist" is a serious problem.

Apparently calling Trump racist makes us unable to "analyze or engage" with him.:jbhmm: I suppose ignoring his racism will allow us better communication with him and his fellow white supremacists.:beli:

The fallacy here is the idea that Trump and his supporters want to "engage" especially on anything race related. They don't.
