man please. Such a cop out. Battling has been a part of hip hop since the beginning, and only a tiny fraction of battles have ever gotten physical. Theres hundreds of indy battles on youtube --- how many of those have gotten violent?

This is all about fans, and record execs not wanting to see their favorite rappers (namely drake), or investments, take a career L, so they want to marginalize battling all of a sudden. Conveniently enough a niqqa like Drake aint afraid of "hardcore sht", when it comes to talking about catching a body like that, and acting like a trained killer. But now we're supposed to believe he bytched out of a battle with common because hes afraid someone woulda died over it. LOL.

hes been sayin it, but it became popular after he used that "no beef" policy to weasel out of a battle with common. Of course his stans all grabbed their pom poms in support and agreed in unison that battling now sucks.

Since Hitemup released there is no such thing as battle records
A beef record and a battle record are mutually exclusive things.

The problem with hip hop is everthing is about the beef and not the battle

Beefing on record is Corny and the reason why PAC and Big are now dead

So Drake is right in that regard, beefing is overrated If hip hop could bring back battle records we be in a better place

But mainstream fans tend to like Beef's why? Because of the Drama plain and simple. America is a sick and violent society. In many ways people in our society want to see people die over some petty shyt like rap beef so They have something to talk about

Why conform to what these CACS want you to do... Which is to be ignorant and kill each other :yeshrug:

Battling and beef are not mutually exclusive. All battles get personal

Why play the biggie/pac card. That battle, or beef went way deeper than any rap competition. We've never really seen anything like that before or since.

Again, its a cop out. Niqqas like Drake wanna talk slick and like gangsters when convenient, but we somehow should draw the line when it comes to a battle on wax. Lets make no mistake, Drake and co have no problem performing wildly ignorant music. If he was on some positive, conscious vibe I would completely understand, but when you hear a record like 5 a.m, the "no battling" policy looks real fcking chicken sht. He wanna have his cake and eat it too.

yup, and we still be mean mugging and wearing old ass baggy clothes in 2013. :ehh: Kanye saved the black community from an all out civil war when he dropped College Dropout. LMAO

The crack era waning and the crack era rappers getting older is another reason for the demise of hardcore rap:youngsabo:. Only so many ways you can talk about crime before people get tired of you and move on.

dont get me wrong, the internet did more to kill quality hip hop than :yeshrug: ever could. i gotta say tho, the influx of ye clones has provided for a shytty ass era of music

Damn, yall wont be satisified till we have another rapper get killed behind this hardcore shyt, huh :stopitslime:

Maybe the labels saw that gangsta rap was bad for business and steered the genre into a less dangerous direction

And then yall same motherfukkers gon wave white flags and shout increase the peace when the shyt gets too real.

People don't know wtf they want anymore and it shows

Another reason why gangsta rap got thrown in the bushes when they saw success of non-gangsta rappers. Back then, most of them hard headed rappers used their advance money to flip it in the drug game or use it to kill other nikkas they were beefing with. The labels were tired of that long before Kanye came in the game, but when Ye came, they decided to clean house on it. Not even an Uncle Murda or a Maino type of dude can eat well in today's game and the labels are making sure that another super-street dude will never gain much profit again, or at least on the level of Suge.

Some of these rap fans are like hoes, they don't know what they want. :birdman: Cats want it to be like 2002 again with the pointless beefs and the random street violence in industry events.

50 cent killed rap beef.

Kanye killed 50 cent & gangsta rap

Drake took Kanye's formula & buried inner city influence on hiphop

This. After that, it seemed like the inner city influence on blacc folk faded. More black kids at that time period wanted to do "white" things like skateboarding and wear rockstar clothing.

It is funny that the two biggest stars in rap are getting openly dissed by R&B singers...

:pachaha:

But being "soft" isn't always a bad thing though...

Before n1ggas were killers and animals.. Now they're just fagggots and simps...

Relatively speaking it's worse to be a killer...Rappers aren't gettin beat up and thrown off of stages.. There are no Quik and Mc Eiht type situations..The Suge/J. Prince type characters have been marginalized or Black balled..

So even though we can clown the newer generation for being soft, its actually a positive thing..But then again they will probably all die of aids or drug od's instead of hollow points...

:manny:

Yeah, the healthy, level headed black male that is a heterosexual is the most hated personality in Hip Hop. See J. Cole, for example.

These nigggs scared to take L's.then you fans accept this shyt

Taking L's means loss of money, loss of fans, and loss of a normal life. Problem in Hip Hop has always been the severe consequences of those L's. When your career is on the line over a simple beef, rappers today tend to stay away from that. No one forgot what happened to Ja Rule, and what happened to Fif after people got tired of his beefing.

If Hip Hop wants to be respected like other genres of music, It has to make great music in times of peace and prosperity. If not, more Pac and BIG situations will happen, all for "good music." That mindstate has to be elevated.

I'll tell you when.. 4 important artist made it this way

Jay: Rappers really started caring about their BRAND, and appealing to the corporate world because of this dude.. A lot of acts tried to tone done themselves.... There may have been people before him to do it, but his influence is greater

50: Not saying 50 is soft, but he was the catalyst for the defense mechanism for artist to cop out of shyt with the famous... "I'm a platinum selling artist, I sold more than you"... So no matter how soft or corny you called someones music, they could rebuttal you with sales ... Was he the first, NO.. But he really brought it to another level...

Pharrell/ Kanye West: Really brought the suburbs to the hood to create what we have now...

I like all of the acts I listed above, but truth be told they are responsible for what we have today

So to answer your question I would say mid to early 2000's

Nah, people hated on 50 when he beefed with the likes of Jada, Nas, and Fat Joe over a song they did with Ja Rule. :heh: If that ain't some feminine ass shyt, I dunno what is. Plus, many people believe that Fif was the last of the street rap shyt being dominant. 05 and beyond, the south took over with party anthems.

:what:

Uhh yes they are exclusive.. Have you ever been in a rap battle or been to rap battle? You think most of these niqqas is coming into these battles with their emotions on their sleeves ready to beat a muthafuka up if their opponent offends them? Of Course Not

There is Sportsmanship involved in Legitimate Rap Battles.. Meaning you Takes Your W's and L's like a man and move the fuk on..

Battles arent suppose to be Personal, Beefs are
