That shyt doesn't speak for me. None of nas albums when you listen to them are BETTER SOUNDING or have more appealing content.

Nas gets points on trying to do more, but I can't reward so many failed executions. And a lot of it sounds so bad I never want to hear it again.

Hov made things I wanted to hear over and over again.

Nas couldn't do that.
You just making shyt up at this point.

Good? Not just good. It makes them excellent. I agree.

This is entertainment.

If you wanna rap your ass off, but make it hard to listen to, I don't reward that.

Make something I wanna hear, then we'll talk.
:mjlol:
If you can't even admit Magna was trash I don't know what to say. :yeshrug:
We evaluate this shyt differently. :yeshrug:
I'm a hip hop fan, this is a popularity contest to you.

Nas has better production than Jay.
They both tried to chase the current sound at times, but Jay did it way more which makes most of his material dated. Listen to Vol 1-3 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Nas and Jay are vastly overrated among casuals

Nas is my favorite MC but the exaggerations and hyperbole that surround him/his music is ridiculous

The same goes for Jay. Pound for pound Nas is the better artist from a pure creative/skill stand point

Jay is perceived as the bigger artist because of how successful he was at commercializing himself as the artist who lead the way on using hip hop to sell products..

Why do you think we have the 360? Once the industry caught up to where Jay had leveled things they begin to corner the market on every aspect of the artists worth..

These dudes are bottom feeders of most real heads top 10s..

Nah son.. Nas production has always been subpar outside of Illmatic and It Was Written

You say that like it's a bad thing :lolbron:
You sound like a cowardly conformist. Too afraid of what your friends might think to even form an opinion of your own.

If the DJ is playing trap and for some strange reason he's taking requests (where does that even happen :russ:) and I wanna hear Shook Ones I'm requesting it :pdahellclean:
a conformist?

I'm clearly standing on my own square and telling you Hov makes better songs.

I've had dudes DMing me bullshyt over it too.

I'm clearly in the minority opinion.

I dont care

Since 1999 Hov has always made music that sounded better to me and had more style to it. Especially when Hov would drop those "did he really say that" bars and have you twist your face over saying some boss shyt only he could get away with.

The whole package matters. Y'all out here rewarding songs with ambitious attempts but shoddy execution.

Nas is known as having one of the worst ears in rap history.

That doesn't go unacknowledged.

This is the entertainment industry. This isn't the "lemme lamp out on some heady spoken word" industry

Make your shyt sound appealing, and we can talk.

nope....if anything Jay has gotten more passes for his overt, materialism while Nas can't do one "commercial sounding" type song w/o getting heat even if the lyrics are actually more on a conscious tip

Im more impressing with elite poetic and technical skill combined with great-diverse subject matter, concepts and solid production than I am with trendy beats and little range in subject matter

nope
Conscious music, in and of itself, is not good music.

Good music, is good music.

Jay has more of that.

So u think Jay could drop a track like Rewind? Lmao. Ok bruh. U NOT a Jay fan nikka.
Yeah. If he wanted to.

Nas doing it, doesn't mean Jay can't.

Jay is more talented at the art of putting words together and doing it with a twist on the flow and metaphors he would use.

Nas is more interested in trying to tell stories that end up not making great songs.

I'm not mad at your view but I think you realize you'd probably be in the minority

The only real difference between Nas and Jay is Steve stoute

Anyone with two ears can hear who the better artist is..
