They knew they weren't protected during those protest,or when they went home to they families and had to sleep at night. Don't ever compare what you are doing to those times. MLK was never able to go all the way with the plans he had in store for black people,and our empowerment and being self sufficient. Don't look at his peers and think MLK would be what they are today,no disrespect to them. But he was a brilliant mind,and its a reason he was the leader. I expect like most great minds,he would have adjusted to what was given and not given to him. His peers haven't been able to do the same,and that was not a role they were supposed to have to take on.
