Most women in general prefer dinner dates as their first date from my experience. But I will say that there are more white women that aren't as demanding in comparison. You'll find some of them that want to meet at Cafes, coffeee houses, bars etc as a first date. But that shyt will not fly with a black, hispanic or an Asian woman.

Depending on the encounter, you can meet them at the bar if you drink.

I usually let the guy plan the first date. I would prefer if he could think outside of the dinner/movie box, but not every guy is able. OP, do they tell you that's what they want or do you just assume?

I personally can't relate, but if it's happened to you then then I can't discount it. I personally would not impose dinner on someone (if it wasn't in the plans) when I have no idea about their budget. If we never talked about dinner then I eat before.
