I know its sad bruh:mjcry:
I’m assuming you’re on a secure card with that low of a limit . Either ask for an increase if you’ve had it with low usage for atleast a year . If not you did right getting another card . Shyt ask one of 6 certs to add you as an authorized user

Yeah, I used to do that method while back, but then sometimes the reporting date would change

Now have quite a fair bit of total available credit, so its easier to keep a low utilisation.

With only $300 if possible, I wouldnt even use it and just leave it in a drawer fully paid off. They will be in touch to increase it.

I won't lie I have an open sky (300) and first progress (500) from when I was rebuilding my credit sitting in the drawer that I haven't used in months. I just paid the annual fee on both because I'm not at the point where I can give it up until I am able to secure business credit. And that's where they are in the drawer on 0 balance. So yeah I'd agree $300 balance just leave it be on paid in full to $10.

One secured
And the other is a credit one card
I calculated the usage wrong but I adjusted my payments after I realized

Just got a capital one today

You should always call and ask for a CLI every 3-6 months.

If your limit is $300, put $250 on it...pay it down before the end of your cycle date. (you dont want your utilization rate reporting high to the bureaus).

Rinse and repeat for a few months, call and say "I've been paying on time, I need an increase". It should be a soft pull

You need to specify what credit card it is.

with Amex, discover and citi I request an increase every 6 months or so right in the app and it’s instant. With Chase they just increase it when they feel like it, they don’t have a feature to request one without speaking to a person.

I don’t think a lot of companies are willing to raise limits right now for the average person.

Why?

Other than taking multiple days for cash to hit

they charge you for every $150 limit increase , charge you instant interest on your balance, charge a yearly fee broken up monthly, horrible customer service by way of India

they do shyt that no other cc would get away with because they’re exploiting people with poor credit. close it out as soon as u can, which will also be difficult af.

Do yourself a favor.. save up some cash

Get a secured Discover card their max is $2500
I believe

So get as close to that max as you can or find another card with a higher max .. Use your tax refund if necessary

Deposit the cash with them.. make on time payments and after 6 mos they'll graduate you to a non secured card and send you the deposit back

This 2500 will now be your credit limit

Keep it in good standing pay it off every month and they will increase your limit

After a year apply for another card and the new card will likely give you a limit close to the one you already have as long as you go with a good bank like Chase or something none of these dumb as banks like Credit One

If you get offers for those cheap banks rip them up

This is not my advice to you.. Just an opinion on a possible work around for someone in a similar situation

This :wow:

Man after I did some research..... I fux with Chase:wow:

Trynna work my way to that Chase Trifecta :banderas:
