That's just not true, hell even within sports, we discuss all the time about overpaid/underpaid athletes, that in itself is a sign that people do not get exactly what they are worth. They get what an imperfect market is willing to give them at a certain time and in a certain place, which is a whole other thing.
So?
You all are coming from the perspective that you already have BASIC education. So you telling me that you thought yourself how to read? Westerners are so pampered man, go tell that shyt in Africa on some "you don't need teachers, here's a Finance course, self-education is the way to go!". smh
I agree with the bold, I'm not saying that athletes should not be paid what they are paid, I understand if they're making that much then OF COURSE owners/media/the League are making way more off of them, that's not my point. But it's not like it's a zero-sum game between athletes and teachers.
My point is just that teachers, given their role in laying down the foundation for everything in society, should be paid more given the importance of their job. Y'all talk about home-learning or whatever, but what about parents that have to work, who's gonna be teaching the kids then? Self-education, you still basic things (language, reading/writing, maths) to even do that, and do you really imagine a 12 year "self-teaching" himself?
Where did I say we need to pay teachers "a million"??? I said "more", I never said they should get paid as much as athletes
Again, you guys (as most Westerners) come from a reality in which schools are a given, and you choose to shyt on it ("teachers are useless", really? In your whole life NOT ONE teacher thought you shyt?). I come from a reality in which my cousins couldn't go to school because teachers were not paid AT ALL, and my lil nephew is losing ANOTHER school year because of a military coup. It's just so easy (and typical) to shyt on something AFTER you were able to benefit from it.
