He wasn't able to adjust as the sound of hip hop changed is the simple explanation.

Interestingly though, he's managed to stay culturally relevant in spite of all this.

He didn’t go wrong he made a smooth transition into film.. something Ja couldn’t do, Ja became a Frye festival spokesman
Smooth?
His transition into films and TV was far far from
Smooth.

But he got there and that’s the important thing.

No Dre production.

Other factors that can't be controlled like the times.

He transitioned well in the media game and will always be considered a hip-hop super hero to me

He thought that the music business was like the drug business and you had to keep your name and your product constantly in everybody's face to maintain control. Music isn't cocaine, as long as your drugs are quality and readily available and the addicts are familiar with it they will keep fukkin with it...in music it's not as product based when you're on that superstar level, it has more to do with you yourself and your image and exposure and likability and countless other shyt.

50 never gave anyone a chance to miss him, he stayed in our faces nonstop for 5 years straight sounding/looking/acting exactly the same the entire time, naturally the shyt just got stale...and beefing with people everyone loved didn't help things.

Drake, Cole, Kendrick, Eminem, Kanye, Jay-z, etc... all the big artists, despite social media pics and rumor mills and shyt, tend to stay low until it's time to sell you some work...there's a reason for that. 50 Cent always reminded of Master P, neither of them understood what "overexposure" means.

I think him getting black balled and just caring more about business and money made him quit music.

Also his authenticity actually made it worse

He didn't make and wasn't going to make Kanye or wayne type music (the shift in sound)

Even now 50 raps like grodt days lol

Also look at BISD. Amazing album but he drops it at a time where hip hop is accepting people changing and fake shyt (game, Ross etc)

He's always gonna be a legend

Top 10 imo

Play dumb Brehs. 50 fell off after 2005 :mjlol:. It’s been 16 years since he fell off

ill never forget when this fool performed this shyt live for around the 1st times and the crowd was just :unimpressed:..then they switched to in da club to get the crowd back lol

50 chased the hit after in da club and GRODT and his music slowly got worse

1) Lost the soundscan battle with Kanye
2) Gave away his better beats to everyone else on G-Unit that ended up on mediocre releases. Thus, he relied on a lot of weak beats from Curtis onwards
3) Not enough Dre & Em.... though that's not surprising since they really make sure things are good on the debut album. But the other G-Unit producers never really kept up a level of standard that they (Dre & Em) held. If you look at TDE, at least MixedByAli and some of the TDE producers learned a few tricks from Dre.
4) Flameout due to beefs - the Game, Joe & Jada beats really took a toll. The Cam one was a bait, even though it effectively killed Dipset's rap career in entirety.
5) Financial problems -> after the Vitamin Water deal, it seemed a lot of those proceeds went to fixing his other issues. The recession drove his worth down significantly. The Tyson mansion bled money. The headphone deal was a dud. Some silly lawsuits led to the bankruptcy. Fortunately, Power's doing decently well, but he's not the 100 million dollar man he once was at his peak.
