Thong song was a gift and a curse for him. It's a great song but it's a pop song with campy/novelty vibes. Sisqo's core audience was the RnB crowd. He needed to break out in that lane as a solo artist first then go for the pop charts.
He refused to go back to Dru Hill and insisted on doing a second solo album.
Then he filmed this crap. It was so terrible that the label refused to release it.

Nah. His solo success reinvented hm and wasn't tied to Dru Hill. He had all the lane to expand in that decade. With that album, he expanded his fanbase way beyond Dru Hill. You do if you count his group success dru hills first two albums were very successful the solo album was the pinnacle of success it was no where to go but down.
At some point he didn’t want to play the game anymore.
Also if he was going to be a soloist then he needed to leave Dru Hill alone forever. Sisqo’s run was weird like Fergie. Both has big debut albums and there’s no musical reason why they shouldn’t have run it back in a big way.
With the caliber of R&B songwriters like Static or even R Kelly out there, Sisqo’s should’ve been eating well and changing his look for each album cycle. His lane was his to do something with for however long he wanted it regardless of label drama or industry BS.
Dude easily could’ve been bigger
Still the head of Dru Hill and touring, who has changed their lineup like 5 times in the last 15 yearsWhat's he up to today?
My favorite Sisqo line: ..you keep calling me names, said I was trife but one thing you gotta know, imma be a nikka for life, YEEEEEEEAAAAHHYEAH!!!

Yeah, because to me, he always was like another version of K-Ci from Jodeci and Dru Hill was like another version of Jodeci. They followed that exact blueprint
And I didn't care for The Thong Song, I always thought that song was corny.
Plus, there were so much other good music coming out at the time. So, I just didn't have an interest in checking out no solo album by Sisqo.
But like I said, I liked his song Incomplete. This is a classic to me.
