It’s not weak it’s just not as good lyrically as his best. Album is still classic.

It's lyrically weak compared to Jay's peak, even weak compared to the Black album, and it's conceptually lazy.

I was a big fan when it came out. Listened to it everyday.

But after years of not listening to it, one day I Just put it, I was still amazed at the production, but the lyrics and concepts left me cold.

The two hidden songs were better than the entire album, lyrically and concept wise.

How is it “conceptually lazy”

And the mark against an album is that it’s not as good lyrically as reasonable doubt is supposed to be the slight against Jay Z

I didn’t like it then…way too bubbly and sounds like it belongs on best of both worlds (which followed just after). Its tolerable now though,
