Where did the myth that The Blueprint was weak/bad lyrically start?

The myth started on here nikka and it stays on here. Nobody, and I mean nobody says that shyt in real life. That album is a classic. I remember staying off school and buying the album on the day it dropped. Everybody was bumping the blueprint.

Only on here you get the whole Jay/Nas weirdo fans. Nobody gives a fukk about that no more. Both Jigga and Nas are fukking legends in this game. I grew up on them both.

"Jigga That nikka" :scust:

The way he starts that first verse :dead:

You can hear dude was living that Dame Dash lifestyle: that's why the album is so vapid and empty.

It's my 2nd favorite Jay album, and Jay's my favorite rapper, but there's no question that this was a step down for Jay after the Volume series and Dynasty.

It's not like a huge step down lyrically or anything, but he's just not quite as sharp on Blueprint as he was his previous albums. And he picked it back up on BP2 and Black Album.

But every Jay fan knows that Blueprint he's just not as sharp as other points in his career around that era. And I think it was a stylistic choice. I don't think he "fell off" or anything like that.

Jay’s best album and a good example of how dumbing yourself down a bit can be addition by subtraction. Nobody wanted his RD/Vol 1 flow over those types of soulful beats. He proved he could still do it a year later with his verse on “Watcher 2”

I will say this thought, Renegade did not help

As someone with no side in this “battle” it’s solely Nas Stans who somehow still are grinding an axe after all this time.
Hilarious really.

This here.

Hov's success and greatness is still an issue for a lot of dudes. It's not just the fake so-called Nas "fans" though. It's a lot of losers. They will dig and try to find anything to have some sh*t to say about Jay. Hip Hop "fans" are the most envious and miserable of any genre. Success and seeing MC's flourish bothers people at home whose only job is to listen to the music. Sh*t is wild.

The Blueprint is a masterpiece. Whether the losers like to admit it or not.

Truth.

None of this sh*t ever gets said off of here. We have a lot of weirdos and losers on here though. So only on here, can you NOT be fans of both Jay and Nas. The posers and casuals started up this thing where you had to "pick a side". Real heads don’t push dumb sh*t like that. Coming in here is like visiting a damn psych ward. They think if they post it and repeat it enough, it'll become reality. Goofy sh*t. The Blueprint is one of the best albums ever, and will always be.
