Where did the myth that The Blueprint was weak/bad lyrically start?

Listen to RD and then listen to BP. shyt listen to Where I'm From and Dynasty Intro then listen to Blueprint. Then tell me if the bars are of the same quality.

And this isn't to say Jay is bad on RD. He's still Jay, his charisma and cleverness is still there. But he started becoming more simplistic on BP and anyone who doesn't see that is lying to themselves.

What’s lyrically weak about U don’t Know?

Again, I never heard any of these opinions outside of this sub

"I can sell water to a well/whale" :ohhh:

:laff:
The same nikkas who'll call people like nas "smart dumb", will champion a nikka who thought the sun revolved around the earth :mjlol:
You can't make this up

The blueprint isn’t as nice lyrically as reasonable doubt doesn’t mean the blueprint is bad lyrically

Nobody is claiming an album is a masterpiece classic of the beats alone. If that was the case BPA would be viewed in higher regard than the Bluepint or AG

I don’t remember hearing this at all but if it’s a thing it probably started around Jay saying
“If skills sold, truth be told
I'd probably be lyrically Talib Kweli
Truthfully I want to rhyme like Common Sense (But I did five Mil)
I ain't been rhyming like Common since”

He mentions when he sold 5 mil which is Vol 2 and then the next memorable album is BP so people associate that time with him “dumbing down”

Exactly, Jay said it himself...don't blame Nas fans for something he himself put out there:huhldup:
