Where do the Rockets go from here exactly?

This is the third team in 6 years to espouse that thought process. What do the Nets and Suns have to show for it? At some point there has to be results that go beyond a silky jumper.

That sounds hot but a playoff team with a young core who believes they would’ve done damage with top level scorer saw one on the market

I agree but to his defense regarding BK, that was just unfortunate with Covid, injuries and all that. When they are all were healthy and rolling that was looking like a championship team. But we only remember the chaos, fukkery and failure

Why did they bring him in?
To put them over the top assuming their young players kept rising. They didn’t take the expected leap. There’s no Luka and Reaves like their is for LeBron. Like Sengun is talented but he doesn’t shoot 3s. He’s basically a younger Sabonis. You basically have KD doing something he wasn’t brought in to do once Fred went down.

Need another scorer
Sengun is ehhh to me
and expecting VanVleet to pick up right where he left off is a lot
Everytime I watch the Rockets play its mad accidental basketball
just stumbling and bumbling I don't know if the coach is the issue

U definitely just defined their style. Clumsy "oh the ball just rolled over to me so I'll get this three point shot off" type of offense.

The fact that he quit and blew up OKC with Westbrook and Harden to join the team he was 3-1 up on in the playoffs.. says EVERYTHING you need to know.

Would MJ do that?
Would Kobe do that..?

Hell no.

Unless the best 3pt shooter of all time, and one of the best 3pt shooters of all time are spreading the floor and scattering the defense to the point that he can shoot open 3s and midrange jumpers, drive to the lane with maybe 1 defender there but often nobody’s there to stop him….

KD’s not winning anything.

When he gets doubled OR someone is all over him and he is the sole focus of the defense..

He can still get points, but there’s 0% chance he gets you a chip.

KD left OKC 4 years after Harden…..

I understand all that goes into winning and losing. I understand that good fortune is necessary. However we cant say things like "If you can get KD, you get KD" and then ignore the results or look elsewhere when discussing those results...at multiple stops. We also cant act like he wasnt an active participant or complicit in the chaos, fukkery, and failure.

If given the option in summer of 2025, would you have traded FVV, Brooks, and Draya for KD? Why or why not?

Didn’t it take Boston like 7 years to get a chip? All this quick reaction shyt blowing teams up every couple years ain’t the move. You just have to be smart out here. Make a couple moves and try to win some shyt

Need Sengun to bounce back, he was a level worse this year compared to last.
Need Amen to develop into the guy that people pretend he is
Need a point guard

Their core is still young so they will have plenty of time to develop. The KD trade was dumb because the dude is miserable and ruins team vibes on every team he's on. You could ignore that when he's impacting winning but he hasn't been able to do that since Brooklyn. I would get rid of KD before doubling down and trying to go WIN now but I guess they are stuck and exactly what they will do.
