My top 5 in chronological order is 1978 steelers, 1985 bears, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Buccaneers, and 2013 Seahawks. Not sure I can put Denver over one of them. Yes I'm aware the steelers defense laid an egg in the super bowl but they pitched 5 shutouts during the year. Only team to have more than the 4 by the 2000 Ravens, who gave up 970 total rushing yards (nobody ran for 100), forced 48 turnovers and had 48 sacks I think, and gave up a 16 game record 165 points (151 on defense). They allowed 16 total points on defense in the playoffs while scoring 2 touchdowns in 4 games. They forced 5 turnovers in the super bowl, never even let the Giants into the red zone, and didn't even let them past the 50 yard line their last 5 possessions of the game. Tampa bay gave up fewer points than the 1985 bears, counting the playoffs scored 9 touchdowns in 19 games that season, and had 2 scores in the super bowl along with a record 6 turnovers (they really did have a very unfair advantage though

). Seattle was the first team since those bears to lead the league in points allowed, yards allowed, and turnovers. Between their end zone stand to beat the niners and what they did to the highest scoring offense ever, they belong too. That shyt was damn near criminal. Not sure I'm comfortable bumping one of those teams off the list even if Denver was as good, and they were amazing all year long. I hope nobody forgets how good they were years down the line.
