Its actually the complete opposite. People hate him and dont give him the credit he deserve as a rapper cuz of all the corny shyt he does. He built his fanbase off Mood Music 2 not social media

There's definitely a faction of people who hate on dude because he's a huge cornball but that still doesn't negate the fact that he hasn't done ANYTHING in the annals of hip hop noteworthy enough to elevate him to such lofty heights on a GOAT MC list. Do people consider how many dope and talented MC's there have been in the history of recorded hip hop music? Why should Budden leapfrog cats like Black Thought or AZ or Canibus or Killah Priest or Pharoah Monch or Styles P or....the list goes on and on. Why? Name what he has done that places him in a Top 50 list. Pump it Up and a few dope mixtapes?

False. Love & Hip Hop got Budden way more publicity than any of his music since Pump it up.

Dude has all the skills lyrically in the world. To me hes one of the most underrated just off pure skills. He just doesnt have that IT to put together songs, albums that great.

He definitely gained fans because of that show. He didn't lose fans because of his cornball antics before Love and Hip Hop and he definitely didn't lose any because of Love and Hip Hop. I'm sure he picked up some limp wristed dudes and some females during his tenure on that show.

Yea he gained fans, they came through love and hip hop. He promoted his music through the show, L&HH having a lot of viewers(male & female) helped him re-establish himself. He marketed himself through the fukkery and corniness of L&HH

Again, you HAVE to consider how many dope lyricists and MC's there have been in the history of hip hop. Thousands. No one still has stated why he deserves a spot in the Top 50 over the rest of them.

Because he does have sum great music and he's a great rapper. The Mood Music series is the best mixtape series in hip hop history IMO

Nah, I don't hate dude. I don't like him, but I don't hate him. I'm trying to be as objective as possible. Stans tell me he's this great lyricist so he deserves to be in a Top 50 list. I can name a SLEW of GREAT lyricists that shouldn't crack a Top 50 list but Budden should? Why? Cause he made a couple dope Mood Musik mixtapes? What else has he done? No classic albums. Arguably NO classic songs. He routinely gets out performed by his fellow group members on Slaughterhouse tracks. He got roasted by a rapper A LOT of people consider wack and a hip hop troll (Lil B). He doesn't even have any commercial success to hang his hat on. Really tybo, WHAT has he done to warrant such high placement you give him on a hip hop GOAT list? I'm waiting

I know he's made some good songs. But where's his classic songs? And I don't mean classic to you...or any other Budden stan. I mean classic, classic. Sh!t that even dudes that don't like him got to respect as a universal classic song.

Obviously a matter of personal preference, but he's in my top 3 ever. Fully aware of the fact that I enjoy his music more than most, so save your two cents lol.

I'd put his top 30 songs against any other rapper's as far as lyrical content, creativity, storytelling, wordplay, introspection, etc.

His real gift to me is that his music evokes emotion much like say a Pac or a DMX, but he's also extremely skilled as an MC to where he can hold his own with anyone as far as technical rapping ability.

If I'm stuck on an island and I can only listen to one rapper's catalogue for my entire time there, Hov is probably the only dude I'm taking over him. Lupe is 3rd.
