Then when you get the same result next year then what run it back again ?
They'll have a lot of draft capital to address any pressing needs and plug them.

That KD trade is practically low hanging fruit at this point, it's there when you need it. His value has never been lower and he could still be a cheat code still at this point of his career.

I think the key is move giddey or dort before their money kicks in

Trade Giddey for a part that fits better. I think he’s got talent, but he’s not going to meet his potential at OKC with SGA there.
Find/draft a 4 that is a menace on the boards/physically strong to cover for Chet if you wanna continue playing him at the 5
Chet needs to get his weight up. Dallas bigs were physical with him all series and you could see it affected him. Even if they got past Dallas, you still gotta deal with Minny/Denver that will do the same thing

They need size and rebounding obviously
Which they absolutely did not need an entire early exit from the playoffs to figure out since it was obvious even last year
Yeah they were able to add Chet but 1 good big for an entire team ain't it
Giddey should've been moved by the deadline, he sucks and his value only went down during this stretch and during the playoffs.

They also need to actually start getting some vets in there and not the washed up Gordon Hayward types that are just so past it they can't make any impact. Actual solid vets that aren't shook of the playoffs

Take 12 and giddy and see if you can trade for clingan if he falls to 5 or 6.

or

see what happens in Atlanta if they take Sarr. Capela or okongwu should be available.

Simply draft 7'5 Zach Edey honestly and take your shot.

When somebody gets their position in the post against a defender that is completely outmatched, its basically a guaranteed two points.

There's still something about a post player that's difficult to stop in a play-off setting. Somebody who'll bump and make you constantly have to jump for a full series. Zach is 7'5 300 lbs. and has a post game arsenal. A lot of people in the league are going to hate playing against dude in a playoff series.

If Edey's 3 point shooting is legit OKC would be insane.

The thing about OKC is they have draft capital:
x3 2024 first round picks
x4 2025 first round picks
x1 2026 first round picks
x3 2027 first round picks
x2 2028 first round picks
x2 2029 first round picks
x1 2030 first round picks

Some may be swaps, but most likely they're going to be swapping for higher draft picks.

Most of the next decade they're going to have a lot of talent to surround their already high-achieving young players. They just got to keep drafting good.

The team that's screwed if they don't get it done this year is Minnesota.

The Grizz need him more than anyone. 7'4 Red Oak who's a 70% FT shooter. The only knock is he's slow in transition like Jokic.

Do they just rely on internal growth from guys like Chet and Dort or would you become aggressive and make a big move?

If they don't add a superstar they are absolutely cooked. You can't rely on internal development in the NBA because some team is gonna add an all NBA player in the off season that makes you further behind than you anticipated. Siakam or OG is probably the most attainable
