When Ye first came out and got praised for a new sound, I was like he's biting RZA tho:lupe:

Last call is still one of my top 5 beats and songs from ye :banderas:

i also thought i was the only one who was stannin over I Need to Know :ahh:

Same here. It's funny though because Evidence from Dilated Peoples actually did the beat and was trying to get it on the black album. You can even see Kanye playing it for Jay in the fade to black movie.

But when Kanye went back and had all those live instruments played over top of the best for the outro/talking part, even he said Kanye took it into a whole other level. So he said what he did was a skeleton and Kanye added the body.

It's probably my favorite beat on college dropout.

Dope article on how they made the beat: http://www.hiphopdx.com/m/index.php?s=news&id=27131

Definitely one of my favorite early Kanye joints. He even said he was trying to re-do those old classic songs where they would be talking over the music, like the Gladys Knight & the Pips sample on Can It Be All So Simple.
