This.

I only saw Kobe play live once in his prime (05-06 season). Damn near the entire arena was in Kobe jerseys despite it being a road game for the Lakers. shyt was crazy. I felt like I was part of some collective religous experience.

That's how Lakers games would be bro...even during the down yrs

I can't speak on the previous era but in mine:

Prime AI
Kobe

Bron
Shaq

Prime AI in Atlanta was a fukking zoo. Traffic downtown would be at a standstill if he was in town.

Kobe post-Shaq was also at the top but that's a given. I went to this game and it was just as ridiculous as it sounded. You knew you were going to see something stupid no matter how good or bad his injuries/shooting/team/etc were.

Yao generated huge buzz and when he started cooking in his rookie year he became a must see attraction

Those first Shaq Yao games were marketed like heavyweight boxing matches

There's a great documentary about his rookie year called year of the yao. Id highly recommend it

Iverson should be mentioned in every take.

You would think these goofballs who talk so much about watching the game would have remembered the event of seeing Iverson and the 76ers play.
