The best player in the league by a fair margin, in his prime, in the midst of writing the bulk of his legacy, being compared to all time greats, just came off a 27-win streak, biggest story-move in the history of the league, gloated about winning multiple titles etc etc.

I mean cotdamn, nobody comes close to the pressure he has. It's literally championship or bust for him.

Pressure and expectations in this case are the same thing. The higher the expectations, the more the pressure.

And the Martin/Harden trade isn't a bust/failure if they don't make it to the finals. Will folk stop saying that dumb shyt.

pretty much.

i don't get people saying melo...i mean dude really just needs to get past the 1st round and it'll be :blessed: time in NY for him.

Two types of pressures this postseason. Pressure to win. Pressure to perform

What about Josh Smith. Maybe pressure to perform in this case. He doesnt want to come back to ATL, and he believes he's a max guy. Well shouldnt he have to prove ti this off-season. Don't believe Atlanta are huge underdogs against NJ but he can go a long way with solidifying his self-status as an max contract guy by playing the game the right way(high iq) and leading his team to the second round.

Same thing can be said for Brandon Jennings, who also thinks he deserves a max contract. If he can put up bog numbers against that great Heat defense and maybe push that series to 6, he'll go a long way towards solidifying his status in the league .

I think Harden has somethin to prove. He left a sour taste in all his believers last post-season and then one upped by saying he deserved a max contract and wanting to be the man. Well he got his wish and he did lovely in the regular season. Now he leaves right his postseason shortcoming and prove to ppl again that he can do it where it matters. If he has two bad postseason series in a row, imagine what the media/basketball community will say about him and his status as the man in Houston

Of course the ATL
"The pressure is largely off of him unless he fails to do what he's expected to do"

Like WHAT THE fukk. That shyt makes no sense.

Shut your hyperventilating ass up :rudy: Anytime somebody says some shyt you don't agree with you go fukkin apeshyt :stopitslime: shyts annoying

Everybody in the league has pressure, including Bron, but he doesn't have more pressure to win than KD or Melo, Melo especially since Bron is already a champion

To win what? To come out of the first round? To come out of the second round?

Did you forget why Lebron moved to Miami? Did you forget that Lebron is the best player in the league (in his prime)? Did you forget that Miami just came off a 27-win streak?

If you can't see that higher expectations = more pressure, than there's no hope for you.

Its LeBron. Everyone else will be forgotten about 2 days after getting eliminated, Bron will get slaughtered all offseason

you dont get it. He's already been to the mountain top. There is no pressure to get back there, its expected. It's always funny how things flip flop on the internet. 2 years ago all the pressure was on LeBron in the Finals because Wade already won and 'had nothing to prove'. Now all the pressure is on the guys who have done it instead of the ones who cant get out the first round, interesting.

Apparently some folks in here forgot that Bron won a title last season.

Exactly...he got that championship monkey off his back. For whatever reason guys with championship rings get passes no matter what the expectations are (see Kobe/Shaq when they lost to SA/DET, see the Heat in 06, see D.Wade in 10) Beyond that, if they lose to the Knicks it will be all about the Knicks return to glory and Melo's ascension.

Melo doesn't have such a pass on deck and if they lose to anybody but the Heat he's gonna catch it. And don't let the Nuggets go farther than them nikkas. :dead: nikka will get roasted.

:mindblown:

If it's expected, than that means he's got the most pressure. Stop re-writing history, the pressure was on Lebron because he was the leader of their team and he had to perform to the standard and his projections (not because Wade had already won one). If Wade still hadn't won a title, Lebron would still be looked at as the one with the most pressure.

Lebron has the most pressure because: "The best player in the league by a fair margin, in his prime, in the midst of writing the bulk of his legacy, being compared to all time greats, just came off a 27-win streak, biggest story-move in the history of the league, gloated about winning multiple titles etc etc."

Lebron has the pressure to live up to the all time greats, to put his name alongside Magic, Kobe, MJ etc etc. There's more pressure in that, than there's getting past the 1st round.

The pressure doesn't subside just because he won a title, as long as he's the best player in the league with the best team, he'll ALWAYS have the most pressure to win.

Is this year the end be all :what: Is LeBron's career over if the Heat don't win a championship:what: Will he never have another chance to win if the Heat don't win a championship :why: Is his career not already validated by the fact that he has won a championship among 4 MVP awards :comeon:

All that needs to be said is you, and a few other posters from what I can see want pressure to be on LeBron. You get off to it and Ya'll sound like idiots, the pressure is always on the guys who haven't done it. It's the same reason Peyton Manning is teflon while the Romos and Cutlers of the world face pressure to get it done.
