If Melo doesn't get out of the first round he's gonna get destroyed and nobody will take the Knicks seriously ever again.

Naw, it's all relevant. Because all that pressure/expectations wasn't stipulated on Bron winning JUST one ring. You're deluded if you think it did. If Bron doesn't win another ring, shyt will be held against him forever.

Congratulations on predicting common sense.

Only momentarily (through the off-season), he doesn't get a pass for a lifetime for winning one ring. When did I allude to 10 rings or anything of the sort? I said multiple rings, meaning in the time-period that he's the clear cut best player with the clear cut best team. The most pressure will be on him to win. You have no valid argument against what I've posted so you've resulted by hyperbolising my statements to create imaginary vantage points for yourself.

WRONG.

Those two can both co-exist. He's gotta do everything for them in that, he's the main cog on offense and defense (leading them in all areas: playmaking, scoring, defense etc etc). He directs and stars on both sides of the court. The help are complimentary pieces. Without him they don't have a chance of winning a title. He doesn't have any excuses for losing, not just because he has the help, but because he's head and shoulders above everybody else in the league. In order for them to be successful, he's gotta do everything for them.

How does Melo have more pressure than Bron to win a title, when basically NOBODY is expecting him to make it into the finals? You're projecting this unrealistic situation of Melo, in that he has pressure to win a title THIS SEASON. We're not talking bout next season, or when Melo has a better supporting cast. Right now, there's no pressure on him to win a championship. Melo's not in a position to win a title, to have any amount of pressure that Bron has. Where's the media talk about Melo winning a title this season? Where's the public talk bout Melo winning a title this season? There isn't any. If the Knicks make it to the ECF - they will be looked at as a success. Miami will only be looked at as a success if they win the title.

Why would Wade catch more heat over Bron if the Heat lose when he has more rings than Bron? That literally goes against your logic of "the pressures on the guys who haven't won and the players with rings get passes". Why would Bosh catch more heat when he has one ring just like Bron?

The media/public can turn on Bron just as quickly, if he doesn't win this season.

Are you gonna sit there and tell me with a straight face that there's no CHANCE at all of the media/public using the past to throw shyt on Bron if he doesn't win this season? Everybody's just gonna completely ignore Bron's fault in his OWN legacy and dish the blame out on Wade and Bosh? That everybody will use the excuse 'oh it's his team's fault on why he isn't ranked next to Magic, Bird, Kobe, MJ. You can't blame Lebron he's already got a ring'? Do you honestly think folk are gonna use that line of thinking? No one's gonna use the "not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5" against Bron? No one's gonna use anything that Bron said or did up to this point as ammunition to shyt on him?

:dead:

I never said he would get a pass for NEVER winning a ring again. I thought we were referencing this postseason. My only points have been that Bron has more help and has way more likely to get a pass this year now that he has a ring. If the Heat lose a hard fought series to the Knicks or the Thunder and Wade is hurt and Bosh plays like shyt or Spo makes some dumb ass moves or fails to adjust, Bron can get a pass. Conversely no matter what happens with the Knicks if they don't get to the CF it's gonna all be on Melo.

You are confusing you own thoughts and beliefs and way of operating with what the media will say and what the sheep that follow them will accept. The reality is neither of us have any actual facts to support our assertions. I at least have history. All you really have is what you believe will/want to happen. :manny:

Magic and Bird were getting to the finals every other year, Magic damn 4-5 years straight and winning some em of course he didn't catch Heat.

Kobe ain't catch heat in 2011 because the Lakers were

A. Attempting to do something that hasn't been done since the 80's which is reach the finals for your years straight
B. They were coming of two straight titles
C. Kobe was playing on one leg
D. Pau was playing incredibly soft and had a huge drop off from the year before.

This is the biggest gap between the top team and the rest of the field that there has been in a while.

The Heat have been to two straight Finals and Bron has been to 3 of the last 6. If they make it there and lose that will be 3 straight Finals and 4 in 7 for Bron. And I'm not sure who would be favored over them to make it back next year.

Kobe didn't catch heat because his rep was already set so the media moved looked past him for a person who's rep wasn't as set...Pau. I love how nikkas try to justify shyt that coincides with their own personal biases. Nobody said shyt about them trying to get to 4 straight Finals or Kobe playing on one leg the whole narrative was about Dirk beasting and Pau playing so soft that he made Phil hit him in the chest. Kobe's comparable drop off in PPG and dreadful 4th qtrs were completely overlooked. If Kobe doesn't have any rings, plays better and still loses it would've been all about him no matter what else actually happened.

Of course the ATL
Lebron James

people want to see a repeat, if not we'll just hear "bu bu bu magic, michael, shaq, akeem repeated, why not bron"

Carmelo still does not have the pieces (needs a consistent 2nd scroer)

Paul's team can't play in the half court

KD and Russy are still "young"

Kobe is out

:aicmon:

JR scores 18 a game
Felton gets you 14 a game

Stop making excuses, he's got help

Are those #2 options anywhere as good as Wade, Dwight, Blake, Marc Gasol, etc.. etc..

JR is inconsistent (played better this year) and felton is aaight. If either of these 2 are your 2nd option, your probably not winning the ship.

But it should be enough to beat an old & decrepit Celtics team when you have home court advantage correct?

Yes, but but but but but the celtics will be riding an emotional high, plus they're playoff tested, so it's not going to be a walk in the park for the knicks. I can see them losing honestly in 6.
