You may have a point. When I got my very first IT job, it was with this very small White company, that laid me off in three months for no real reason. Anyway, there was this sorta giant White guy, the only down to earth dude that worked there, including that Tom who worked in the printing room, who was married to a White girl. Btw, this White guy kinda looked like Gerry c00ney. Not as big, but he was up there.
Anyway, one day after work, me and the big White guy hung out and went to dinner, where his girlfriend met us. I think he had treated. Anyway, some kind of mishap happened at the dinner table. It was so small, I can't even remember. I didn't knock over his drink or anything. Like I said, it was so small, I can't remember. But whatever it was, his White girlfriend practically tried to sick him on me. He was totally embarrassed by her actions. It was like he was ashamed to let me know he was dating a racist. I had never seen a White girl act like that before, not in person. I never even hung out with a bunch of White people after working hours, or school hours. For some reason, It seemed like this White guy always felt a little sorry for me. I'm not sure if it was because he knew I was from the toughest part of Northwest DC, an area we had to often drive pass to get to one of our clients in Downtown DC, or if it was because he knew they were about to let me go. Probably both. Everybody working there, including him, knew I was a good dude, who came very far just to get to where I was. But racism is racism. And now this country is finally reaping what it has sewn for all these years.
This was in 94, when everything was booming, and we thought we would never see anything like a 2008, or 2020. But what was America doing while it was booming? Still staying up all night while we slept, trying to make sure we continued to sink all the way to the bottom.
