Watt deserves the award but Houston did deserve a few votes...The Watt hype train is real and I am sure that if any other poster not named @Swagnificent made the argument there would be a lot more meaningful discussion instead of just saying "He da WOAT"

that the NFL is looking a white defensive star? Was Luke Kuechly showing too much Black excellence last year?

It was a point devoid of any substance.

Player A: 22 sacks, 68 tackles, 23 TFL, 25 QB hits, 4 forced fumbles, 5 pass deflections, 6 stuffs

Player B: 20.5 sacks, 78 tackles, 29 TFL, 50 QB hits, 4 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, 1 defensive TD, 10 pass deflections, 15 stuffs, a blocked kick, forced a safety

:yeshrug:

all that tells me is player A and B were pretty close.

also why did you leave out that player A was on the 2nd ranked defense while player B was on the 7th ranked defense?

OP living up to his banner. When Houston is getting double teamed every down and catching TDs then you may have a point. But now? :camby:

what does that have to do with defense? last i checked this was called DEFENSIVE player of the year award. not best defensive player at scoring TDs.

Watt deserves every acolade he is given

I am more interested in what happens when Bridgewater and Winston ascend to elite.

Will the NFL attempt to ignore them or mitigate as they have attempted to do with Russell wilson

Just saw that JJ Watt got the DPOY award by unanimous vote. :what:

Now don't get it twisted dude had a great season but UNANIMOUSLY? really? I mean did I imagine Justin Houston's LEAGUE LEADING 22 sacks? Or did it really happen?

Justin Houston shoulda got at least some votes. No way this award shoulda been unanimous.

So you agree that Watt deserved the award, that you would have voted for him, but feel there's something wrong if everyone else has the same opinion?

Yawn. I mean what are you going to do about white privilege besides smile and grin when a pale face talks to you?
