Not for a single person in Metro Atlanta. Cut it out… You guys don’t live in the real world… That’s at least $1500 after taxes twice a month. Your rent for a 1BR in a decent part of town will be $1200. After paying utilities, insurance, car note, gas and buying groceries. If you are fiscally responsible, you should be able to save $500/month. Balling? No but definitely decent. Throw in summer school and some schools pay a little extra around testing time to stay behind for an hour or two to help students get prepared, you’re fine.

Everyone looks at IG and think they’re entitled to going to brunch and having mimosas every Saturday, buying the latest and greatest clothing, and going on a couple of vacations every year. They get themselves into debt and then complain that they don’t make enough.

A 1 bed room is closer to 1500 now a days in Atlanta but you are right overall you should be able to live a decent lifestyle with that salary.

I almost became a substitute teacher back 2017 when I was between jobs, but ultimately I decided the pay wasn't worth the bullcrap. ESP. here in durham nc :hubie:

A lot of teachers go to these "struggling" schools to then project themselves into D1 Schools. :yeshrug: Don't pick a job that requires you to have patience if you do not have patience. If anyone deserves patience, it's Kids.
