I was over my parents home today and my Dad and I were talking and he mentioned that he had just gotten around to watch this years BET Awards that he recorded on his DVR. He said he the majority of the rappers and singers he didnt know who the hell they were and said most of them were a bunch of nobodies.
My Dad was born in 1965 and is not the biggest rap fan I mean he does like but only in small doses. I told my Dad being that he doesn't really listen to the radio and most if the time just listens to a Playlist of songs he has on Saved to YouTube of course he wouldn't know any new rappers. He just responded that the new rappers are mostly garbage so that's why none of them are household names.
