Knicks getting out coached & out hustled.
Thibs lack of adjustments is a glaring issue. He keeps trotting out the same lineup expecting shyt to be different. At this point you have to try everything. Play Rose as the backup in a pick & roll with Obi. Try using Fournier to space the floor.
And I don't want to hear 1) "Spo going to hunt Rose or Fournier". Well the Knicks should've been hunting Duncan Robinson. Or 2) Rose & Fournier haven’t played. Look at PHX & LAL. Lonnie Walker was out the rotation, and at the spark he provided. Same goes for T Ross & Warren with the Suns.
At this point it’s a gimmick to try and go small. If the playoffs are all about execution how good can they realistically be if they never practiced it? Thibs sucks in the playoffs but he bought himself another season. I expect it’s ECF or bust and then they get a better coach. Who idk because while Thibs sucks in the playoffs he isn’t a Fizdale/Hornecek/Fisher level bad coach.
I’m still against adding Poole however everything you said in the post is correct most notably letting Reggie bullock go. Reggie Bullock and Grimes on the wing would be great right now.
Nah Bullock was a problem just not the one that needed addressing right then. I don't think it's a coincidence that in 2022 they started fixing the real issues with the team when they saw how pointless trying to beat ATL was because they just fell off.
Outside shooting Is a problem, in theory IQ, Brunson, and Grimes can eventually bring that. I can’t wait for the day we get a coach who recognizes that and utilizes them as such with plays designed for outside shooters.
With that said I do think they need a
dynamic shooter, to not just stretch the floor but shake their defender and burn the zone down from outside. Stretch the defense out.
