We got outhustled the whole series. That's a mental thing.

Y’all got gassed, mentally and physically. That’s common when you have a young, talented, and gritty team.

Miami has been playing at this pace for two straight seasons. We’re used to the marathon that is the playoffs and the Knicks just haven’t experienced it yet. Y’all went against a team that plays like you but has been doing it longer and played with a little more IQ in pivotal moments.

But y’all didn’t break and fought the entire time. The Knicks aren’t weak, mentally. The Heat we’re just stronger and more prepared. Reminder, y’all put up a far tougher fight than the championship core of the Bucks

I think the injuries kinda got downplayed too. Randle, Brunson, and Hart were on shoddy ankles from the first series; Grimes' shoulder was hurt and Sims had surgery; then IQ missed the last three games with another ankle injury. It's not an excuse, Miami missed Herro and Butler/Brunson elevated their play despite injuries. But at least some of the offense collapsing can be attributed from Hart losing a step, Grimes losing his shooting touch, and Randle/IQ vanishing.

Thibs deserves a shot to run it back. Then Johnnie Bryant probably deserves the next look if the Knicks seem stuck.
I'm sold.

All facts

You guys are well coached & Spo brings the absolute best out of everyone on that roster; even your role players put in that work. It pains me to say it lol, but you guys IQ from the coach on down were more than a little better than us lol.

Best believe we're coming for you guys next season :demonic: :myman:

thibs got us 2 playoff berths in da last 3 years and won us our first playoff series in over 10 years. and It aint like he's workin with max players or mvp's like da bucks or 76ers either. We were only supposed to win 30 games.

That counts for something. if randle and quick play anywhere near their regular season stats, we are in da conference finals right now.

He coulda did more adjustment wise, but its not all on him. Even josh hart took a step back this series. They outhustled and manhandled us.
He got outcoached too. But Spo might go down as an all time great so I don’t think it’s the worst reflection of Thibs either. Especially if it turns out we played them harder then the Celtics do.

I never said we were weak, I said we got outhustled. Hustle is effort, which is mental. The bolded is one of the reasons, but regardless of the reason the fact remains : we got outhustled during this series. Now we can go on and on about why how and whatnot, but that fact remains. Ain't nothing wrong in admitting that, Boston just got outhustled on its home court too. Like you said, that's what Miami does and has been doing for various years. I would outcoached too, but that's obvious and basically the same issue.

I hate Julius like the rest of us but is there evidence of Julius actually hurting morale? None of the players have complained. Not even leaks of people tired of his shyt. And you know Mitch woulda tweeted or liked some shyt. I think that’s why he probably won’t be gone. He’s a mental midget with a toxic relationship with the fanbase but his teammates seem to like him.
I based on the fact that I never really see Randle initiate a high five or celebration with another teammate. Nor do they go out of there way to do it to him or help him off the floor. Yeah they do it, but they jog over, help him up, he might get a pat on the shoulder...then they out. I've seen Hartenstein try to show Julius love only to get spurned so Ju can boo-hoo to the ref some more. We all saw the IQ altercation. I also rarely see interactions between Ju and Brunson.
If I'm wrong I hope they don't let teammates liking him influence them to not do what must be done....

Nah I'm still salty... we beat the Celtics if we get past the Heat.
That Miami series was totally winnable for us & that's why I'm still a salty about it too lol. We needed a coach that could help us get easy buckets that series. And also a coach that wouldn't use a damn drop coverage. Spo took advantage of that & them winning game 1 set the tone

He’s already in the top 15 coaches of All-Time.

No point in arguing about what some other coach could would or should have done. No telling if they would have done shyt or if it would have even worked or what other exploits Spo would have found. No telling if that coach even leads us to as successful a regular season. There were things that were out Thibs control and we did have the third ranked offense in the league this season.

Thibs is our guy and once it’s his time Johnnie Bryant should step in.

Yea, I’ve seen all of this. And i haven’t seen any real change in the teams body language when he lashes out either. They just accept it. We’ve seen teams with poor chemistry in the past and I just don’t see it on this team. It’s just Julius. This isn’t like Draymond and KD, or Draymond and Poole, or the clippers clearly annoyed with Kawhi…

(Again, I’m on board with trading him. Just questioning if he’s really fukking up the morale or not).
