Most rappers aren't overrated. I think some "conscious" rappers are given a free pass because they're supposedly making better/smarter music then everyone else but for the most part nowadays there aren't too many guys that get too much attention.

jay says he doesnt write so if this is true why isnt he considered a GOAT battle rapper like EM? it doesnt make any sense if you rite raps in your head and can store them shouldnt you be able to battle flawlessly? or is this jjust another attempt of Jay trying to elevate hisself higher than everyone else which has been his business model from day 1.. jay should get credit as a MARKETING GENIUS.. which he is.. rappin wise hes ELITE top 5 imo.. but grading him as an ARTIST hes no where near the GOAT how you have 12 lbums and have like 20 classic songs?????????????????????????????????????

depends what you define as GOAT rapper do you grade a rapper on there ability as an MC or as an artist? EM has done both @ the highest level possible

I actually forgot about Wayne. I would put him and Em as equally overrated. Eminem was great for 1/7 of the time that he has been active but he's always been hailed as at least top 3 - regardless of the quality of music he would be putting out at the time. Wayne, on the other hand, has always been a trash rapper. Even the albums that are considered good (Carter 1 and 2) have like four or five good songs on them in between a bunch of bullshyt. Still, Wayne was only considered great for those 2-3 years. As blasphemous as that was, the rest of his career most people ranked him exactly where he should have been - nowhere.

Wayne is/was the most hyped rapper of his generation bar none, he's one of the most popular rappers ever. He has a huge fanbase from the burbs to the hoods across the country, how much higher can 'the best rapper alive' be rated?

how are you or other people on here gonna say eminem is overrated when he's the most commercially successful rapper of all time, then you go on to say nas has a bad voice when in fact he has one of the best voices in hip hop not just currently but all time. And futures rapping skills not gonna lie are p terrible, but his hook game is really dope
