I have never in my life heard anyone think that was going at Pac. Besides Pac obviously. And even that was :wtf: because #1 he shouted them out on "Old School", and #2 they went at people a lot more blatantly than that, and never denied it.

Well like the quote says, pac asked them about it after the vid came out, they said they weren't spoofing him and they peaced it out which is why he shouted them out later down the line.

Then pos and treach got into apparently and him and pac were like peas and carrots. I'm thinking the history could have played a part in him being so eager to jump in that, because when i watch the "i get around video" i can see the shyt plain as day. So you saying it's completely beyond them to cop pleas?

That's "Stakes Is High". They went at the entire industry on the title track of the album. So they was never really into throwing stones and hiding their hands. They went at BIG on "Long Island Degrees". They went at Wu-Tang on "itzsoweezee". And that verse I just quoted got Hip-Hop Quotable in The Source that month, yet when "Ego Trippin'" dropped nobody thought it was about Pac.

Fred.

Did big, wu or anybody else ever press them about it for them to confirm/deny it though? You would know better than me...if they were put on the spot like "did you diss _______" and owned up to it (and not no 10 years after the fact shyt), then i'll ride with you.

Sure, but unless names are officially named (or in Mobb Deep's case they actualy say who it's about) its typical East Coast subliminal work. Majority of the lyrics were just sounding like a regular Mobb Deep song until they got to minor specifics. Pac's work was much better. Which is sad because Mobb Deep then should have REALLY dropped a gem on 'em. P was in the zone then.

:rudy:got raped on the island, talk that thug shyt vibe magazine on some love shyt, you would think getting your head shots enough, robberies in manhattan you know what happened 60 g's worth of gun clapping:pachaha:

I'm not even saying they one the beef but you can't get any more specific than that.:yeshrug:

:comeon: They had few lines in a 4 minute song. I checked it. Havoc's verse is 25 lines according to AZLyrics and only ~7 refer to Pac in some way. P's is 33 lines long and still ~7 lines can be referencing Pac in some way.

The track is good musically but is a phenomenally weak diss track.

Here's why the "Survival of the Fittest" shyt doesn't fly as a dis...

Pac popularized the term "Thug Life". By '95, it was a term that was no longer exclusive to him, it was a part of the slang of that era. And so, with them sayin' it on that record, I doubt it was a slight to him out of nofukkinwhere. It was just as much a commonly-used term as "WHAT!" or "keep it real" or any other shyt nikkas were using then. Now I'm sure Pac, in his paranoid state of mind (no dis) hears that and instantly feels it's a slight at him... but the chances that it actually was? :heh:

Come on, bruh...I can see what you're trying to say, but:

Yes - Pac popularized the therm "Thug Life"...but that's not just some term he put in a lyric once. That was the name of the moderately successful group he put together not long before, and the whole world knew he had that tatted on this stomach. You some nicca that rolls with my eneMIEEEEEEEES claimin' my chit? No.

In another sense, "Trill" is a word you might see a lot of rappers use now, but that word was invented by UGK. That chit is all over all of their catalogue, they started a record company named that, they had hats and clothes with it on there and alla that there. If some nicca was using that term and they were on footage with somebody who had dissed UGK, you could bet good money Pimp C would have something to say about that...

But again... so the word "thug", which by '95 is not exclusive to 2Pac, caused him to believe immediately that it HAD to be a swipe at him. So if they said "fake GANGSTA muthafukkas" instead, it would've been all good... it's just funny to me.

As for "Who Shot Ya" I always thought that was a dumb move. And not because of the song itself, cause IMO it's not a dis track. But they could've called that song anything but that. If the name of it wasn't "Who Shot Ya" no one would have ever seen it as a dis, cause there's nothing in the song that sounds any different than other rhymes BIG had around the same time. It's just like how DPG's "New York New York" ain't really a dis record until you see the video. But that title was in bad taste IMO.

I mean, it's not that I don't get why he felt like nikkas were comin' at his head. I get exactly why. He got robbed and shot at a place where he felt he always got love, so of course you'd start to question everything. But some of that shyt was random as hell... I don't even remember but what were the issues with LL and De La Soul about again? :heh:

I don't understand the LL issue either other than the Cali reference on I Shot Ya but I think Pac was reaching on that end. I mean Pac was on some real paranoid, wilding out shyt during that time. Sorta of like Nas when he went in that 2002 rampage.

Remember when he even called out Ice Cube? He was wrong on that end because Cube was representing the West hardbody while Pac was locked up with songs such as West Up! and Westside Slaughterhouse.

Another thing is why did that nikka diss DA BRAT?

I don't kno....that LL Cool J song I Shot Ya the og it could be said had sum shots...dependin exactly when it came out

"Baby Boys reminiscin on sum old school shyt.
Young fools get dikked,LL rules the shyt."

"Uh oh lookin kinda leary,ya clique thought I fell off didn't wanna hear me?"

On the OG its sum arguable shots,Pac did sumwhat diss LL on Old School imo...whether he meant it that way LL had a right to be offended I gotta say....even tho the title of the song under the circumstances is questionable and a low blow.

He went @ canibus for giving him props, why wouldn't he go at pac for saying he fell off?

2pac said:
LL raising hell but, it didn't last.

Todd couldn't handle the harsh realities.

LL said:
What the fukk? I thought I conquered the whole world
Crushed Moe Dee, Hammer, and Ice-T's girl

But still, nikkaz want to instigate shyt
I'll battle any nikka in tha rap game quick
Name the spot, I make it hot for ya bytches
Female rappers too, I don't give a fukk boo
Word, I'm here to crush all my peers
Rhymes of the month in The Source for twenty years
nikkaz scared, I'm detrimental to your mental state
I use my presedential Rolex to be debate
nikkaz fight, glock cocked ya temple gets fukked
MC's, that fukk with LL they gets bucked
That's real, what's up with that I Shot Ya deal?
Light shyt, nikkaz slip now how the bullet feel?
New York appeal, in L.A. they gang bang
But if you touch a mic your motherfukkin ass hang

That's facts, nikkaz don't recieve no type of slack
Cause if they do, they ass is always runnin back
Not this time, but next time I'ma name names

So basically, y'all are proving what some of us have said...

Pac was mad sensitive in '95-'96. :heh:

Sorry, it just is what it is. He thought everybody was dissin' him for anything that could remotely be taken as a slight, whether it was aimed at him or not. If these are the real things that had him dissin', or just things his fans have taken and run with, these are some pretty lame excuses. In that time, rappers talked shyt all the time, and most of the lines were general like a muhfukka. If one nikka jumps out there on some "nah he talkin' bout ME!", what else do u call that but sensitive?

The De La shyt could've been a number of people, because "I Get Around" was far from a one-of-a-kind video in that time. The pool party scene was a video cliche of that era, just like the big party in a mansion, and the jail scene and the project building scene and the smooth club scene... nikkas were even makin' videos in the woods :russ: From popular rappers to unknowns, lots and lots of videos had similar backdrops. If someone parodies that and then ONE nikka or group takes offense, shyt's just comical to think the parody was INTENTIONALLY meant for them.

those kids were ducking and dodging everywhere they went in the country after dissin pac

we really need to stop making these threads where a false equivalence is being created between a legendary hip hop artist and a couple of local acts

how is that a shock tho? the man was shot, robbed, left for dead and ALOT of people were shytting on him at his lowest point

like, how can we hate on this man for being paranoid?
