Finally got around to getting into the smoothie craze.

It's been my dinner two evenings straight.
I got it from Martha Stewart :leon: and it consists of:

  • 1 cup ice.
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries.
  • 1/2 cup plain lowfat yogurt.
  • 1 banana.
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats.
  • 1 tablespoon honey.
  • 1 cup coconut water (or other liquid, such as juice)
Plus, I add some protein powder. It's actually quite good:ehh:, but I definitely want to switch it up. Perhaps add some veggies.

Any suggestions?

I usually make a meal replacement smoothie on some days for dinner/breakfast.

Typically a 1 1/2 cup Almond Milk(unsweetened), handful of frozen fruits, 2 TBS almond butter, 1/4 cup rolled oats, handful of greens and a banana or two.

It's it's just for a drink or snack I use:

Plain Greek yogurt (nonfat or low fat)
Ice
Honey, agave sweetener or natural turbinado sugar (best to just use honey or none at all...honey is the least processed and healthier)
An assortment of frozen/fresh fruit (frozen good cuz it's cheaper and frozen)
Ripe banana
Juice and/or coconut water (use fresh juice or at least NOT FROM CONCENTRATE)

Blend dat bytch.

For a meal replacement....u can add nuts, oats, flaxseeds, chia seeds, maca root powder, natural peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, avocados, etc.
