They both have a fair share of mid in their archives imo, it’s a toss up. I think Nas has higher highs though, artistically. Their careers have been so long that they can afford the peaks and valleys and peaks again, the mid is kinda inevitable when you been here 30 years consistently.

It’s subjective, but

IWW
Stillmatic
Lost Tapes
Life Is Good or KD3

Vs

Blueprint
The Black Album
American Gangster
Vol 2 or Dynasty

Nas other “Great” albums are better than Jigga’s imo. Idk about reverence and acclaim, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re higher there too though.
….

Nastradamus
Street’s Disciple
HHID
That Kanye album

vs

Magna Carter
Volume 3
Kingdom Come
Blueprint 2

Jigga’s mid is more mid than Nas mid too. Again, imo, lol. I try to be honest, for what’s it worth, y’all be biased and fan-y af. If Jigga shhit was better to me I’d just say it, 🤷🏽‍♂️, still got Esco above him.

It ain’t tho, Nas >>>> Jigga. 😬

You put lost tapes and KD3. Only nas fans talk about those albums.

You just made my point after your edit lol

And you forgot 444

I think if you were to check general rankings of Nas albums, on any hip hop site/platform, you’d see Lost Tapes on there high up champ.

4:44 cool, I see it gets panned a lot but I actually liked it, 🤷🏽‍♂️. That ain’t “great” tho if that’s what you’re insinuating, stop.

Ima go with Jay. Too much pandering to cacs and 4:44 was basically preachy Nas without Nas’s depth

We can actually get to the bottom of this…lol, doesn’t have to be a back and forth spat of opinions. What credible, reputable hip hop sites/platforms are there? I’m sure they have album rankings and breakdowns and all that. I think you’d be hard pressed to find one regarding Nas’ catalog that doesn’t have “Lost Tapes” in the Top 5. It’s arguably Top 3 but that may just be my fandom, admittedly.

The Lost Tapes was met with widespread critical acclaim. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalizedrating out of 100 to reviews from professional publications, the album received an average score of 81, based on 12 reviews.[41]

Reviewing for Entertainment Weekly in September 2002, Craig Seymour said Nas' "gritty, yet hopeful, reflections make Lost Tapes a real find."[8] Rolling Stone critic Jon Caramanica hailed it as "the real Stillmatic", writing that it "displays Nas' gifts for tightly stitched narrative and stunningly precise detail."[13] In The A.V. Club, Nathan Rabindeemed it a masterpiece whose assorted tracks cohere as well as any of Nas' official studio albums while reaffirming his reputation as "rap music's poet laureate of urban despair".

In its 2007 issue, XXL included The Lost Tapes in its list of "classic" albums to be given the publication's maximum "XXL" rating.[48]In 2012, Complex included The Lost Tapes in their list of "25 Rap Albums From the Past Decade That Deserve Classic Status".[49]

I been on forums/internet and around enough people on this earth to see only Nas fans mention lost tapes. I wont even entertain KD3 lol

Nas got his career revive by a beef. But after that beef was over. The decline continued

LL never had 3 straight albums of decline

Nas's career didn't get revived by a beef. Boost? Yes. If Stillmatic's only good song was "Ether", Nas would've been done. God's Son is arguably better than Stillmatic. Just lacked the impact.

Even LL's runs got boosts from beefs.

GOAT, 10, and DEFinition are not great albums. You could even throw Phenomenon in their. Those albums are nowhere near the top of his catalog.
