According to Bink, Just Blaze stole his style.

:yeshrug:

NEVERMIND: What style specifically? The only beat Just produced on here that I would say is in his style is U Don't Know. Just I always associate with the tremendous horn sections. Is this the style you/Bink are talking about? Are there examples of Bink handling this type of production before Just blew up off of it?

EDIT: nevermind I just saw the references on the 2nd page

Check the Juan Epstein interview in this thread.

1-900-Hustler is Bink's example of where the sound started.

That 1-900 Hustler has a lot in common with Just Blaze though.
If you listen to ""Lyrical Exercise" it has a similar kick/snare drumroll at the end of every so much bars.

I know you said edit and you saw the references, but Bink specifically mentioned U Don't Know as an example, and then went on to talk about a lot of beats throughout Just's career beyond Blueprint. He mentioned specifically sort of that epic sound that is clearly sampled but also has that feel of live drums and that it would work well with a live band playing it.

Just Blaze can really do anyone's style better than them basically. I think he's pretty much the most versatile cat there is. He can go samples, keyboard beats, samples that sound like keyboard beats, keyboard beats that sound like samples. He can bring in orchestras and produce them. He can do minimalist type shyt. He can do R&B production.

I'm very biased. After listening to the new Juan Ep podcast I really do believe Bink but I can't take Just Blaze off my list. As far as guys that came out as new producers in the late 90's, I think he might be the most talented. He and Nottz.

I'm going on a tangent, but damn, if Trackmasters and Eminem had been cut and replaced with Nottz and Alchemist on Blueprint?
:wow:
