I also want to point out the notion that "CMR was on the rise before No Limit". If we are calling what CMR doing as on the rise pre 1997, what do we call Mystikal. Mystikal landed a deal with Jive, who re-released his indy album with extra songs before most knew CMR or No Limit had heard of CMR or No Limit.

so cash money has run away with this poll overnight all of a sudden.

yet, nobody is in here making a respectable case.

only that one guy who types essays but never knows what hes talking about.

No Limit had more impact on the music business but Cash Money had a much larger cultural &musical impact.

Instead of me having to keep correcting these No Limit stans, the fact above remains. NL changed the business. But CMR has the longer lasting cultural and music impact because even NL had to copy them. P getting blackballed and losing the No Limit catalog plays a large part in this too.

LOL @ this fountain of misinformation tryna pull rank.

dog, all your posts in every thread read like you got into hip-hop in the mid-2000s or some chit. then you tried to kick that boney ass sports analogy.

and what no limit stans are you talking about?? pretty much everybody that youre arguing with are fans of both labels, dummy.

then when people correct your bullchit, you smack your lips then turn around and throw another pile of chit at the wall, hoping it sticks, while dressing it up in a nice-n-neat essay. i cant stand dudes like you.

No limit made it a hot line
Cash money made it a hot song :manny:

This says nothing of the impact of either label though. CMR rebranded itself and was able to last much longer. That is longevity, not impact.

Impact is that hot line creating a template for the hot song to blow up. Were you seeing CMR on BET and MTV before or after No Limit? Were they covering The Source, XXL, Vibe, Rap Pages, etc. before or after No Limit?

I could even say Lil Wayne flooding the game with mixtapes, features, and side projects is influenced by watching No Limit rapidly release music.

In the Silver Lining
No Limit was arguably bigger earlier, but once Juvenile hit the scene, combined with Wayne the edge went to Cash Money. Of course Cash Money stayed true to "taking over for the 99 - 2000s".

wayne was NOT a factor back then.

i mean he was a good roleplayer, but it wasnt no "juvenile combined with wayne gave them the edge" type chit going on.
