Yeah breh. I was at 10% for two years. I was frankly happy with it. Did not even think I deserved more. I was paying my truck insurance with it and was content.

I think a lot of vets don’t think they qualify or deserve more. I was one of them. Then a breh I knew was at 60. He told me ayo. You better file. He told me how much he was getting and I was :ohhh:

I half assed put in a claim for my eczema. Did not think nothing would come from it. Got that back pay and a 60% rating and I was:gladbron:

Since then I was on the va’s ass. Started researching and educating myself

My claim for sinusitis was denied.....though it's documented in my medical records from March 2020.

Your Benefit Information:
● Service connection for chronic sinusitis, maxillary is granted with an evaluation of 0 percent effective May 7, 2025.

The process was quick. I saw a doctor of theirs just last week, and she told me that I checked all the boxes.

It was actually approved bro. 0% is a win. They’re just saying your symptoms aren’t bad enough (right now) to be compensated for it.

I feel like if you deployed to a war zone it;s some shyt you should automatically get. Not sure why deplloyed vets gotta prove shyt.

Especially for the shyt you hear about through scuttlebutt years later that no one bothered to mention when it turns out to be fact. Just being in certain areas at times just breathing exposes you to shyt nobody tells you about

How do you even get into PACT?

Its not something you “get into” its just something that basically says certain illnesses and disabilities are “presumptive” to have been more likely than not caused by service in Iraq/Afghanistan if you were exposed to stuff like toxic fumes from burn pits. Your rewards/denial letters usually state that if you were deployed these factors were taken into consideration on your behalf.

I’m on step three now. Been on step three since March 10th and still haven’t been called for my C&P exams.
:childplease:
It took my coworker 3 months to get his C&P when he filed early November. I’m going back to Okinawa on the 9th of June. Was hoping to have my exams done before I leave. Now, I may not do them until I get back in August.
:martin:
I know the back pay will be phat but still. I’m hoping for 90% off top. Will work to get to 100 after.

Step 3 is universally acknowledged as the longest phase

Yeah. I’ve been on Reddit and read the horror stories. I was told 3-6 weeks so I had the expectation it would be fast unfortunately.
:francis:
Had I been told 3-6 months, I would have applied sooner. I got my pstd and sleep apnea diagnosis last year I could have applied right after those.

I know everything will work out in the end. I’m just happy to have finally applied.

Bet. If if you deployed 3 times but it's not on your DD214 how exactly do you get it changed without taking forever?
