Telecommunications breh. I met a dude a couple of months ago who did IT for a hospital. he said he got started as just an installer of time Warner cable. from there he was promoted to maintainence, which maintains the outside lines. then got an IT job in the oil field , now the hospital. he said telecommunications puts you into everything as far as different types of lines, signal flow, etc. he said he doesn't even have a degree, I'm not sure about certs. but he made it sound like his experience at time Warner is what got him to where he is now.

all this advice...so much to absorb :wow:

I work an average of 55 hours a week. There is a business professional dress code, though ties are not required.

The #certGang is a crock. Having a cert is nice but you won't get the job unless its low end entry level. I've hired enough people and talked to enough managers to know that experience is more important than certs. If you think getting an MCSA cert and a CCNA cert will get you in as an admin with no experience with networking and M$ systems your probably going to start on a help desk.

I have no certs. Companies value degrees more than certs these days.
what are the main things you look for when hiring?

Maybe we could turn this into a how to get money thread and educate some hungry younger brehs on the come up.

Instead of reaching for random fukkery let's try to educate and empower each other from time to time.

I'll start:

I work in IT at an F50 organization, I'm 30 and I made about 117k last year. I am working on launching an online business as well. Ask me anything. Or if you have ideas on how to improve let me know.

u smart (DJ Khaled vocie)

lets do a money thread
i want ur advice
i just completed my degree (Bachelor in Computer Science) i also got A+,N+,CCNA and CCNP , now im looking for interniship or a job

which field do you think will be better for me ?
which one pay the most?

probably don't make the most but I been in the 70k-130k range since I was 16.

The past 2 years been a transition period, income didn't jump crazy, but went from slaving for 100k working for myself to making an easy 130k working for my mentor
Aiming for 200k this year, and 350k before 25

I usually dont share shyt like this with the coli but before I have to deal with a coli dweeb calling :duck: this is what my "checks" usually look like

It would be cool if the this became a thread for coli brehs to share advice on how to manage money and properly invest, etc etc
Because there's a lot of shyt I'm still trying to understand. Like I said in another thread, I'm scared as hell of the transition from being young with illicit money to becoming older and trying to have a consistent legit income.
