Bron is beating some of those teams with his first-stint Cavs supporting cast. Hell, the 2020 Rockets and Nuggets are better than most of those teams. Yeah, Kobe beat the Blazers and Kings when he was playing with Shaq but how many great Western conference teams did he beat on his own? He lost to the Suns twice, the Mavs once, and the Thunder once. He only beat the Suns and the Spurs.

Lebron came to the western conference at age 34. If he’s in the west earlier, he’d have much greater success. He still has 1 ring in four season anyways.

In '02 TD averaged 29 and 17 boards, 5 assists and 3 blocks in that series, where the second highest scorer on the Spurs (Parker) averaged 13.9 PPG. Meanwhile Shaq averaged 22/12 on 44% shooting that series (DRob even missed 2 games defending him so TD had duty)
In '04, Kobe had Shaq averaging 23/15 on 63% shooting, while TD had Parker as his running mate averaging 17/6 on 38% shooting.
