Who were the most overrated wrestlers of the 2000s indie wrestling boom?

SD had a wide variety of moves to do. He didn't need to switch up. I think there's a top 50 moves video on YouTube; might be less.

Can't pinpoint a match cause it's been years since I've seen one.

EDIT: top 85

His move set did evolve. its just that he found his style and kept it moving.

The guys you mentioned were all under WWE contract so they had to change.

That video is part of the problem with SD. There's no rhyme or reason to it. He was like a No Mercy CAW that you'd give all the coolest bombs/drivers, the flippiest of splashes, submissions galore, and the hardest strikes and kicks. You might even max out his stats. That's how he booked himself.

Like I said, I was a fan. Then I turned 16. There's a reason why nobody talks about his return to the ring. It's not that he fell off or is a fat slob, he was never good to begin with. We saw a weeaboo rocking a cool dragon mask and attire, striking opponents with the stiffest of shots, and walking up to audience members that heckled him. He was "edgy". That's all it was.

There's a big difference between IWA-MS Punk/Hero and ROH Punk/Hero, before they were ever signed to WWE. There is no difference between XPW Super Dragon and PWG Super Dragon.

It's not like he used those moves all the time. That vid spans years of his evolution.

No one talks about his return because he was never as big as others. He was always "mainstream" underground. I didn't even know he left. I was out of the game. I think I might of read about it on CZWFans.

If you wanna bring up bookings, he wasn't booked a lot outside of SoCal because I read he was an a$$hole.

And SD only wrestled 1 or 2 matches in XPW. :comeon:

CZWfans :ohlawd::to: The only great wrestling forum that ever existed other than TSC

Whether he wrestled in XPW once or fifty times, he still ran with the same style for years and not once worked on becoming a better wrestler. He definitely bought into his own hype, hence nobody outside of SoCal booking him, besides CZW.

Sloppy spot monkey of a wrestler. Every match of his feels the same.

Ohhh shyt, that's an excellent choice. People shyt on Roddy Strong for his blandness but Quack is even worse, dude can pull off 1000 moves and do them as crisp as possible but there's almost no emotion to what he does.

I respect him as a booker, and as a trainer, but for a while he was treated as one of the best out there (I fell for they hype myself) when that was never the case. A fun highflyer/technician, that's it.

He evolved, breh. I've seen him wrestle in various SoCal Indy Feds before PWG.

You obviously missed the part about him being an a$$hole, which meant less bookings. He wrestled in ROH a few times and worked IWA-MS. Did APW in NorCal and Zero One in Japan. Might of did other indies outside of SoCal.

Really? Well, maybe the only thing I enjoyed from Chikara was King of Trios, when he brought all kinds of great and wacky teams from around the world (Johnny Saint, Manami Toyota... Hell, the first time I heard about Daisuke Sekimoto was in one of those) and he was surely losing a lot of money in the process. Now KoT is mostly a lot of locals (Probably the same 15 dudes in different masks) and two or three outsider teams.

Apart from that, his comic book meta booking almost never appealed to me. But he has a bunch of people drinking the kool-aid and defending his stuff so kudos to him, I guess :ehh:

@Heelish

So your disrespect () towards Super DraGAWD made me pull out some of my PWG DVDs.

First one was against KO, which, I think, was the first encounter they had. You obviously need to freshen up on your history because he showed psychology.

At one point of the match he did a tope con Hilo onto concrete. His energy changed until the end of the match. Also sold his knee at times since KO inadverntly nailed him there.

And through out the match KO was using SDs moves against him. The finish came when KO was gonna hit a Psycho Driver but SD countered it and won with a Package piledriver.
