I initially thought that way too breh but when I look at the numbers and their careers, its much closer than you think. CP3 has underachieved most of his career. IDK breh, I think I'm leaning more towards GP.

How can you look at the numbers and say it's closer than you think...

Chris Paul led the league in assists 5 times...

Chris Paul has 6 seasons averaging a double double

Chris Paul is a massively better offensive player than Gary Payton.

Also, Chris Paul led the league in steals 6 times...GP led the league in steals once....

Chris Paul has a 30 PER season, only Curry, MJ, TMac, Shaq, LBJ, DWade, Anthony Davis, Wilt and David Robinson has done that...

Chris Paul is just a vastly superior player to Gary Payton.

Only PGs worth taking over CP3 is Curry and Magic. Chris Paul routinely puts in top offensive seasons for PG and provides All-NBA defense. No other PG in the game does that.

Better passer yeah, better scorer no.

I can see that.GP could take you in the post and get buckets.

He had a knuckle ball J, tho.I was surprised anytime it went in.

CP3's definitely has a superior J/ 3pt shot.He'd thrive in any era.

I wonder how effective GP would be in this era? Career 31% 3pt shooter.

His post up game was effective in the 90's, but even then, it was slow developing & rugged.

He was never really that crisp, quick, or graceful on the offensive end.

I mean Cp3 is the overall superior player. But I asked who you taking on your squad. Not 1 on 1. CP3 can't even get to the conference finals and I'm not even sure I'd take Cp3 over GP in a 1 on 1 matchup either. GP would lock that man up and give him work in the post on the offensive end.
