KOBE IS A BETTER SHOOTER PERIOD

WHAT U FAIL TO REALIZE IS THAT MJ IS JUST ONE OF MANY PLAYERS KOBE STUDIED

KOBE HAD COUNTERS AND FOOTWORK LIKE HAKEEM - MJ WAS GREAT BUT KOBE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL

Nah

Duncan or Kareem.

There's no reason for Olajuwon to have such a high percentage of votes. The biggest reason people say he would adapt to 2018 basketball is his ability to play away from the basket, facing it.

Kobe had a better post arsenal then MJ. MJ played like a guard in the post (post fadeaway or post drop-step-n-go), while Kobe played like a big man.

I'd say Top Tier

Dream
Kareem
McHale
Kobe
Chuck

Duncan & Malone were better face-up high post players, than they were back to basket. Mailman was just gonna bang you 3-4 times then hit that fall-away. Shaq was raw in the post. He didn't get a mini arsenal until after they won first chip, and then he still only had like 3-4 moves.

Mj has the best fadeaway in league history
He could face up
Baseline spin
Up and under drop step
Bully ball
Running hooks
Bank shots

Jordan literally mastered the post no guard was as good as mj from the block
You’ll never really watched mj you’ll making it seem as though he was just an athlete when in reality he’s the most skilled guard ever

No Arvydas Sabonis?

I used to love watching him play because his moves were so unique. He had 3-4 different angles on his hook shots, liked to take the ball from down low in a big sweeping motion but also could start from up high, then he had this totally unique side-hook that he used to wrap about guys that they almost never saw coming, and then an in-between angle too.

His reverse lay-ins came from unusual angles too, used both hands from both sides but it always looked different than everyone else with how he did it.

What he really excelled at was using his size to his advantage long after he lost his athleticism. He would hook an arm around the defender and the defender would be totally pinned, couldn't impede his movement to the basket at all. Use his size to fake the guy into the air and then score over him without ever having to jump the whole time. And his passes from height were crazy - he'd hold the ball up high and then pass in absolutely any direction, behind-the-back or to either side to hit a cutter or straight out in front for the three-ball.

Didnt MJ say himself at some point that he was influenced alot by Dr J? I dont have the receipts for reasons you said, in regards to many ABA games not being televised. So i have to go more off what ive heard

Everyones gonna take from their favorite growing up. I can do them turn around fadeaways just like Patrick Ewing, its been embedded in me for about 25 years

My point is that theres nothing wrong with MJ taking moves and style from Dr J, being influenced by him. The same way theres nothing wrong with Kobe doing alotta things Mike did

Yea just like I thought regurgitating shyt you heard with no tangible evidence foh :camby:

Jordan was influenced by dr j dunk contest moves and mid air acrobatics. Not like kobe literally becoming a carbon copy of mike

A carbon copy of Mike and then some. But who cares, Kobe has his own legacy as an all time great

My nikka ZBo got a vote

I know hes not the goat but considering what he does for someone that can barely jump :wow:

I'm obviously biased but Z-Bo's one of the most talented players I've ever seen. His touch, footwork, body positioning and ability to read where the shot goes for rebounds are why he's been so effective despite limited athleticism

On the power forward scale he leans a lot more toward Duncan, Garnett and Dirk than Love, Aldridge, Griffin, etc. Nine years averaging a double-double including five years of 20 and 10. Nearly led the Blazers back from 0-3 against the Mavs in his second year. Beat the 60 win Spurs as a #1 option on an 8th seed. A main piece on 50 win teams after tearing his knee up and then becoming a legitimate sixth man of the year candidate in his mid 30's. Has a shot to finish with 20k points and 10k rebounds. Every other player that's done that is or is going to be in the Hall of Fame.

Man's whole career is massively underrated

@god shamgod i i respe your opinion but it just doesnt bother me that Kobe took alot of Mikes moves, who better to steal from then the goat?

Its like if im going to box and im looking to study certain boxers to learn some things from, im probably not gonna watch one dimensional boxers. Im gonna watch mostly Floyd but throw in some James toney and BHop, and not think twice about copying what i see

I agree with everything you said, he use to son Blake routinely. I always thought Blake would get his payback someday on an older Zbo, but Blake is falling off fast catching up to old man ZBo

Maybe with more athleticism he'd be even closer to the 3 players you mentioned, they were all a few inches taller then him too

I loved Zach with the Knicks but its too bad we had such dysfunction at that time. Knicks wouldve been better off keeping ZBo as opposed to signing Amare

the season after Kobe worked out with Hakeem :banderas:

the first 10 games or so he was working *exclusively* out of the post and was busting out an array of moves. It was beautiful :banderas:

Finally got the poll up brehs

Yes Kobe took alot from Jordan but i think he had even more moves. Kobe is a basketball historian, he took from everybody. Whats wrong with that?

MJ took alot from Dr J, i see nothing wrong with that either. That whole Kobe took all his moves from MJ take needs to be deaded :camby:

I was gonna post one of the videos @Gil Scott-Heroin posted but he beat me to it. I gotta say you kinda came through and closed this thread breh

I was thinking its gotta be MJ, Hakeem or Kobe but i was leaning slightly towards Kobe. But what you said leaned me more towards Kobe, shyt i miss that nikka alot :to:

Breh just stop it. You have no idea what you're talking about, are adamant about it and have no issue with spreading misinformation.

Jordan grew up in the 70s. There was no espn. There was no YouTube. There were no nationally televised games he could consume anytime he wanted. The nba was fukking dead and on tape delay if shown at all. The aba was even worse.

The only games he could catch back then were UNC and NC State games and he was a huge NC State fan. David Thompson (NC state) and Walter Davis (UNC) were his favorite players growing up. Jordan idolized them. That is why Jordan chose Thompson, not Dr. J, to introduce him during his hall of fame induction.

ARENT U THE SAME GUY WHO THINKS LEBRON IS MORE SKILLED THAN KOBE?

LMAO

Better passer
Finisher
3 point shooter
Shot blocker
Court vision
Rebounder

It’s an argument if someone feels as though Kobe is more skilled they definitely have a claim but bron is just as skilled as anyone
