Top tiers have reached peaked levels

Majority of the new guys havent had any major moments to solidify a top dog status (t top is there by default, he hasnt done anything crazy yet)


Idk what the hell is going on with the mid tiers, none of em made a smooth transition to the big stage yet outside of Nitty

Gas is taking the flow/momentum aspect out of the game, cant build up a haymaker when you get stopped every other line

I cosign that all the top tiers lost appeal. Unfortunately, a lot of their stock remains the same due to sponsors, name power, whatever. The mid tier to top tier transition is real. I'd say we haven't had a single dude from the midtier enter that "new legend" category. The weirdest thing is, it seems like the most likely dude to do it is Chess, and that has nothing to do with my preference.

Also cosign T-Top becoming a low end top-tier.

altho im happy that these battle rappers are finally getting the recognition they deserve and that theyre finally compensated what they're due for battles, i think this has taken a kind of raw energy out of the sport. i just don't see that hunger anymore in these top-tier or even mid-tier battle rappers. i think it's gonna need a new generation to come up and just throw all these old ones in the bushes. but i don't see it happening any time soon

Feels like for every battle rapper that had a good 2016, there's 2 or 3 who's stock dropped or just went flat.

Not a great year for battle rap at all.

Hope I'm wrong but it feels like the sport as a whole probably peaked in 2012 - 2014. Don't know if we'll ever see it back where it was. There's really nothing to get excited about any more besides I guess Suge vs Hitman.

rex. fell even further, if that was possible
k-shine. didnt fall much, but the gun titles second battle saved his subpar year.

keepin it a hunnid, the young boys made their move, this year and the vets got dusty.
