This shyt is really tied.
Not anymore.
But this thread and argument is stupid. I've always hated the way people try to qualify a player that is clearly inferior as better at a vaguely defined part of the sport.
Klay Thompson is far and away the better player. I can't think of a GM that would rather have Derozan right now.
But people love to use the term "scorer" or "playmaker" or "leader" or whatever as a way to move a player they like up the rankings... Melo being a prime example. This dude has never consistently been able to pass or defend, and settles for jumpes all the time... but when people talk about "pure scoring" (as opposed impure scoring?) Oh, Melo gotta be up there, right?
Conversations like this allow for people to bend the meaning of your words to fit whatever they're trying to justify. Scorer is so vague, what if Derozan is the better roll-man in the PnR? What if Klay finishes stronger on And1's, but not as well through uncalled contact? What if Klay is the better shooter from the outside, but Derozan shoots better from the corners, which is arguably one of the most important shots in basketball now? What about on mismatches, what about on post ups, what about on 2-on-1's, 1-on-2's, and 1-0's? I saw this dude brick a dunk once, how wack is that? He can't even score on nobody, let alone on somebody!
But I digress (or maybe regress). I feel like Klay Thompson is the better scorer because I trust him to score the most points, with the most efficiency.

Klay's been putting up better numbers this season tho, no doubt. I haven't watched a full Warriors game this season yet, but even through highlights and watching here and there I can see Klay is much better going to the basket now and changing speeds with the ball.
DeMar has to come back, reintegrate with this team and show and prove to make this conversation worth having. As of now Klay has moved into the lead.
