Whose family tree/pedigree is 50 from? RUNDMC or NWA?

If you were writing a book about hip hop family trees, would 50 go under RUNDMC or NWA?

lol, I knew of 50 before his deal with aftermath. sure he got big under dre but in terms of actual artistry he still would fall under JMJ
Yeah and you're in the minority. Like he went to Dre and was like:hubie: just gimme the beats, I already know everything.

Pretty much. Im sure he learned shyt from dre but he was already seasoned industry wise by the time he got to Dre . Thats why after one album he was already a boss. He spent less then a month recording with Dre. Fif was around jmj for years perfecting his craft.

He’s a product of Jam Master Jay, he just found the formula on Shady/Aftermath. Listen to Power Of The Dollar, that’s raw talent as far as rapping and the songwriting goes. His style was more different and catchy from there on.

I cant believe that I am that unusual. particularly considering that Im in Iowa which generally hears about things after everyone else

I think the contention in this thread boils down to whether this is a discussion of his family tree from a rapping standpoint, or his family tree from a publicity standpoint.

He was a struggling mixtape rapper when he was with JMJ

He became the biggest star in the world when he got with the Dre/Aftermath machine.

I would say 50 is self-made.

JMJ helped some folks get a look, but I don’t know if he really had enough
of results to say he had a “tree”...and even if he did, 50 distanced himself himself from it
when he and Sticky had that little beef.

He pretty much screamed on Cory and Prince Markie Dee, and they sat on
Power Of The Dollar, so it wouldn’t be right to put him with Trackmasters.

Yeah, 50 blew up with Shady ‘nem, but that’s off the strength of the G-Unit tapes.
It ain’t like Em or Dre “discovered” him.

My point is if it ain't for shady/aftermath, we wouldn't even be talking about him.
