Why Are Companies Making You Do So Many Job Interviews Now

Working on my first certs and looking for greener pastures if my current job don't fill that bag up... I'm dreading this tho

I personally never did more than two interviews.

Phone and in-person.

I don't want to be held hostage by my current job.
Also, we still doing references in 2023, shyt is so backwards

I actually wouldn’t mind doing assessments if that assessment guarantees me 1-2 interviews.

Just advise you are better off learning solid tech skills that are in demand. I do feel like competition for non tech skills (except medicine) probably go through this ish worse

I rather just do 1 panel interview with everyone that needs to be in the room at once. Coming back multiple times is rough especially if your currently employed and having to waste days off to do multiple interviews just to not get the job.

You also lose confidence. I notice I naturally lose interest as the interviews go on.

A full panel interview for an hour or two doesn’t sound bad since it is a full panel.

companies have been doing a whole bunch of crazy stuff with hiring practices. I've had a few give me hour long tests to take and I never do them.

I'm not on the clock...you're not paying me to take this test. It's bad enough I had to go through your bullshyt 'workday' job application website you haven't updated since 2001 that takes forever to get through...I'm not wasting my time any longer than I need to.

Typically I have two interviews max though. A phone screening and an in-person. I've had a few companies offer me a third interview, but I never go through with them. It's just a waste of time, and the companies know who they want to hire by then. They're just bored people on the clock making up meetings to make it look like they're doing something.

one of the craziest ones i had to do was:

initial phone screen
phone interview w/ hiring manager
phone interview w/ finance lead
in person interview with team lead, manager, anmd one other person

on top of taking some written assessment

HR and recluiters need to justify their budget so it doesn't gets cut next year.
