to be honest, there shouldn't be high gas prices here regardless. there's no shortage of oil, and no massive increase in demand for oil. furthermore, the united states produces most of our own oil and mostly import from canada. not from russia or the arabs.

True, but iirc the US sold a lot of our reserves and slowed drilling. All this happened simultaneously with the sharp increase in demand due to easing of covid restrictions and all the supply chain fukkery that's going on.

I dont even know what youre talking about but use some logic. How much of the world’s oil supply do you think was going through that pipeline? Do you think the oil that WAS going through they pupeline magically disappeared? Do you think that‘s the cause of price hikes when oil company profits are up the same amount as their price hikes?
